Thanks very much for posting this. Every so often I am plagued by self-doubts: Why did I sell my last Porsche, after owning 14 of them at different times of the years, and jump ship to buy a decidely more temperamental 308? Your photo reminds me of why.... Jeff p.s. That 911 looks like it could be a 1980 Weissach coupe, black metallic with Doric gray interior with red piping? Rare, one of 200, but just doesn't do anything for me anymore! I am truly and utterly ruined.
Took this over the weekend! Had to pull over really quick and snap a shot. Thats 2000 miles in 11 months for the car and after sitting for 10 years. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've never been a Porschephile, but of recent months / year I've grown to appreciate and even covet one. This particular car was a little ratty, but something drew me to it. I don't know if it's a Weissach coupe, but I do know that this car was / is tracked judging by the equipment inside of it! I must say - although I am biased - my 308 looks great here and from this angle. It has QA1s, but I don't know if the ride height is any lower than stock...it just looks sharp IMHO.
Although i love 16" stock F 308 wheels, i was wondering what make these are. http://flipacars.com/pics/Ferrari/ferrari-308-gtb-qv-06.jpg
Those are compomotives, they look like 17" just like mine. The story is they are no longer available. Compomotive 3pc Modular Wheels Heres a picture of mine with 17" compomotives http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/362235-take-your-best-shot-your-best-photo-your-308-328-a-3.html
As long as our bikes are posing with our 308s, here's my garage... With wine, too! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can certainly relate as I'm in the same position. Having said this, I will always have a soft spot for 911s and may even get a 991 as a DD in the future. Aesthetics aside, if I had driven a 3x8 prior to a 911 without car mag-bias, I may have even foregone the Porsche route all together. I'm still glad I went through the journey though.
Latest with My BMW motorcycle which I rode across the U.S. last September from San Francisco Bay Area to New York City then down to Atlanta. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice looking Mooney 201 Jim. Seems you live in a fly-in community? I've got quite a few hours in an M20J. Great airplanes!
...but special nonetheless! I drove my 308 up to our relatives home for Easter. They own another italian icon. Unfortunately I only had my blackberry to take pictures, but to see my italian beauty side by side with the Countach in the same garage was a great experience! NICE !!! I love the matching color combos , it's how I buy my cars as well....something about it when you see them lined up. Great combo too, a 12 and an 8 , all you are missing now is the 12 in the front
My 1978 Ferrari 308 GTB. It looks good in the snow but hopefully the winter will go soon. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hopefully, but I'm not so sure...it was snowing (very lightly, but nevertheless...) this morning at 6:30 in Paris! Great picture, nice car. Rgds
Gorgeous pair. Especially in matching colours. Got to say though that the 308 is soooooo much prettier..
That is because I took the pictures standing closer to my 308. The Countach is definitely wider and a little lower (!) than the 308. I was surprised about its height, or should I say "lowness" as my 308 always looks extremely low next to any other sports cars (even modern Ferraris).
My '83 earlier today, fresh from a swap to 328 wheels and a quick bath... I really need to spend a weekend cleaning the interior and the engine bay, but the weather is just too nice to choose an activity other than driving! Image Unavailable, Please Login
