Do any of you guys ever take your F car to work?
Yep , before I retired I did it as much as possible. I had a 25 mile drive mostly on parkway type roads. Now I drive it to the gym as much as possible and then take the long way home.
About 3 times a year (which is fine with the insurer), mainly on nice Fridays (an 8-hour workday, versus 9 for the rest). Nearly all of my co-workers have seen the car.
Nope, can't explain to all the citizens how a firemen has a Ferrari 360! Its amazing, but what I do with my money is my business, easier just to keep her at home. Plus, the car would be outside for 24 hours, can't always keep an eye on her, pretty secure place, but why chance it! Robert
Yep, 2-3 times a week in my 360 coupe, especially when the weather is good (most of the time here in central Texas). It parks outside but in a secure and well observed place. Don't really know what everyone thinks but I try to talk it up and take anyone who's interested for a ride. Life is too short and it's too great a car to leave at home.
I do once in a while. I have even had mine parked smack dab in the middle of a secure govt facility for a charity car show twice!
I took my daughter to pre-school and a field trip to the library (then to McDonald's for lunch) in the 328 yesterday. It was about 28 degrees when we left, too!
I have taken my ferraris and Lamborghini to work, however never to the station only to the training academy. The station I work at is in a terrrible neighborhood but the training school is ok.
i am in the construction business. trying to negotiate for an extra penny per ffot is hard when you are driving ANY desireable car. therefore, no ferrari on the jobsite.
I never have nor do the people at work know I own one. It still hasn't stopped me from putting 10,000 miles on the car in the last 1 1/2 years.
I am a small contractor on the north coast of california, have three good employees, make a "bit" less than 100k a year and drive the car whenever i do not need to be able to haul big building materials. The guys at the local lumber yard get a major charge out of me coming in for a box of nails or a roll of felt. Life is short. When i drive it to a customer meeting, If they ask, I tell them that this is my Hobby, my passion. I see a lot of other guys driving 30 k big trucks, I make due with a 23 year old beater so i can have fun with the 308, (I am old enough that all of my business comes from referrals, returning customers). I am not into "turning heads", but it is fun to tell the guys, (forget about the car being a ***** magnet), about the mechanicals of the car, when they ask at the gas station. Drive it as often as you can. best, chris
Nope, I have never driven the 355 to work. Purely an evening and weekend toy. I am very private about stuff like that.
Only once, as with many others, we kept this largely private. But, one sunny (extraordinary for Seattle) day we decided to drive her into work. We parked in the front row, so I could see it from my office window. About an hour later our office assistant, a burley formula one fan, came running into my office all excited that there was a vintage Ferrari out in the parking lot. Had I seen it, it is beautiful? I calmly turned my chair around to face my friend and said "Ron, yes I know, that's my car". He nearly fainted. The expression on his face was, well, priceless. And the poor guy had a bad heart.
Why don't we create a "Drive your Ferrari to Work Day" for all FChatters and post it as a sticky? It would be neat to see a lot of Ferrari's on the road on one day. What would be a good date to pick...how about Tuesday April 1st ?
