Leaking head gaskets. While i'm doing all this, does anyone have any suggestions as to what performance improvements i could make? Port/polish heads, plenum, mess with the air box, etc. Should get a pair of K & N filters while i'm at it.

DO NOT SEND THOSE HEADS TO JUST ANY ENGINE TUNER TO PORT & POLISH, MACHINING, ETC... I HAVE SEEN A FEW GUYS MADE THE MISTAKE!!

You cannot use the same tricks you can use on American V8s...

PM me and I let you know what shops I have used for such work..

Just make sure you put the o-ring back in or you'll be leaking oil all over the floor.

Leave them as they are IMHO. You will spend a ton of money, and won't get much gain without other upgrades. Lambo heads flow very well as they are. Its a tuned package.

You could try having a set of custom header made for it. Be sure to have the intake and headers port matched.

I would still look into getting them ported and flown, maybe even a three angle valve job while they're off. Just my opinion.

There is a tiny o-ring gasket that can be easily missed when reassembling the heads onto the block. Make sure you put them back in. You might want to try a set of Quicksilver Headers and a company in California called Extrude Hone for porting the heads and intakes if that's the route you want to go.

I'm confused. If a company like Lamborghini, or any other "sports car" manufacturer is designing their engines to run optimally, wouldn't they have already done all the standard performance tricks? I can't believe the company would not have optimized flow thru the heads and ports. At their pricing, it should be a given.

I always wonder about "tuners" tuning hi-performance cars. Of course, manufacturers need to comply with legislation. And I'm guessing tuners don't. So they can do some extra tweaks. But come on. You just bought a hi-performance car. The standard tweaks should be a given.

Diablo heads flow pretty good right out of the box. Don't fool with them unless you know what you're doing.

You can pick up some horses with a less restrictive exhaust. What are you doing here?
