There is no other drive for a ferrari than a long one... 800 miles on the firts day from so Cal to nor Cal, but 1100 miles in two days is my record and I needed a massage afterwards. But a long distance does not always mean a long time.

If elected, I will transform the U.S. Interstate highway system into curvy, dramatically landscaped roads with properly banked curves and no speed limits.

In the meantime, as much as I hate Buicks/Cadillacs, they do get the job done when you're droning along at ~70 mph on hundreds of miles of straight roads packed with trucks and lined with highway patrol speed traps.

My 1980 GTBi (stock, original U.S. model with catalysts) is okay up to about 3500 rpm, but from 3500 to 4500 is noisy, and I would call it anything but music. Above 4500 rpm is when the music starts, and it is indeed sweet. Unfortunately, 3500-4500 rpm is roughly 65-75 mph. :(

Ill try,in my 308 my best is Dallas to Austin in 90 mins,210 miles but back in the good ol days I made it from Buffalo NY to AustinTX in 20hrs 20mins in a 330 GTC during the 55mph days,1725 miles. Another time, another GTC I made El Paso to Austin in 5hrs flat,770 miles. That time I went by a trooper in a trap at 145mph and got a ticket for 92.I KNOW Ferrari are as reliable over the road as any car,and are the Best highway machines ever built no matter the model.I can run a tank of gas thru one and hate that I have to pit even though its been 2.5 hours in the chair.Hans, this is a big country and you can still put your foot down! just watch out for Police Intension Greed S.

When I bought my '82 Mondial it was on one coast and its new home was on the other. As I recall the total for the drive home was something just over 2700 miles. Not exactly uneventful ( http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106592 ) but I would not hesitate to do it again. In fact, I would LOVE to do it again.

Since then there have been many 2-300 mile trips with no problems at all, other than one flat tire. There is always an emergency took kit in the trunk though, "just in case".

    Well done, mates!!!! :D :D :D

I guess any of you that can top my total mileage, I'll add that we were on HER gasoline card......ROTFLMAO!
They actually called her as we crossed several state lines, fearing it was stolen.

I suppose I have ya'll's support, if I go back over to her house with flowers and another Marriage Proposal?????

Man, I wish I had those pictures on this machine, someone took a shot of us at a waterfall in Yosemite....I love that girl.
