nothing happened to my car. I have a possible chance to get my engine taken out on a swap for swap for service and figured I would take the car home, line the engine bay with polished stainless steel, powder coat the intake and valve covers bright red, change my stock clutch to a kevlar clutch which I have gotten a quote for $795.oo and upgrade my tensioners (which I still need to find out where I can buy these items)....plus just clean the engine bay up real good. I may even go as far as upgrading the fuel system and polishing the rails. If I can find out what type of injectors I got, (high or low impedance) I will replace them with a better injectors than what I have now. Obviously when my engine is taken out, I will document and take pictures of everything. I have driven my car, but there is a lot of unknown things that I don't know have been done yet such as the chain tensioners...one of those babies go...then so does a good engine. I wouldn't mind down the road with going with a standalone computer such as a Motec, but not sure...we will see....but anyways...this is a good chance for me to really make this car shine for a real cheap price.

Any other suggestions of what I should do while the engine is out?

Ceramic coat the headers. Not a lot of money and it will make a big difference to under bonnet temperatures.

I think I am going to custom make my own headers since I have access to a Miller TIG welder. Headers don't look too hard to make. Heck it it works out great I will have to make a Jig and sell these headers for way less than what is out there. I think the cost of the aftermarket headers are ridiculous especially if you know what goes into making them. Just another item that is Lambo taxed!

Here's some pics of a header that is being built in my home garage on a miller tig welder. I am not rich like you guys are so I have to be a DIY'er! LOL!

as far as mile...I have 18K

nice welding, just make sure to give yourself enough clearance on the headers..it's a tight fit down there!

  11. If your going to take it down, consider new head gaskets, and replacing the ring & pinion also.
