Has anyone else read/seen this article in the April issue of "Motor Trend"? It is a very nice article inside the "skunk works" of the LFA.

I just plain don't understand that car. What is it trying to be? It's seems at bit lost. Not the best looking thing in my eyes either. Are they even selling?

My entent was merely that I enjoyed/respected Lexus for allowing an insiders view aswell as their impeccable standards, not to discuss the car.

    Hi,
The article is about the production of the last (#500) of the LFAs. And considering that they were all (supposedly) built to customer specifications, that would imply the production run is completed and sold-out.

While the styling may be deemed a bit controversial by some, the car is an impressive effort, in my opinion. Especially given Toyota's relative lack of experience building with carbon fiber, etc., up until this point. It's too bad the car costs as much as it did, but if you read the article, you can appreciate why.

I can say that I've seen more Enzos on the road than I have LF-As.. of course, it has been 10 yrs since the Enzo first started production.

See the cool footage of the famous carbon fiber loom at ~13:10:

What would Aventador owners give for an A-pilar that thin?

According to this video, the engine sound was tuned in by putting vibrating ribs across the top of the intake, sort of like what's done in string instruments (Yamaha tapping into its musical instruments experience.) (See ~27:00)

    My pleasure, guys.

Except for a handful of boutique marques -- Pagani, Koenigsegg, Bugatti -- I can't imagine anyone allowing staff to take its time in order to get everything done perfectly, no limits on overtime; just make sure one car comes out per working day.

Certain aspects of Japanese culture just blow me away.

Just something to entice the future generation(s) into Lexus. Currently, if you mention Lexus, you get the image of an old person driving one of their cars.

Lexus is slowly modernizing their cars to excite the younger drivers of today, and I think they're doing a good job at it.

5 years ago I would never have considered buying a Lexus, but I'm thinking about one being my next purchase.
