As far as selling - to me it's just a function of whether the car still is "worth having" for your own personal use. IOW, if the car no longer gives you the thrill, why keep it? Frankly I've been on the fence now for a year with selling. I really wanted a 328 from the day they came out but now, I have to admit, as the song goes, "the thrill is gone." I'd sell it but so far my wife's pleading with me to keep it has kept it out of Ebay (or wherever). As the old saying goes, a happy wife makes a happy life! ;)

I have no interest in any other Ferrari so the sale of my 328 would take me permanently out of the F-car group. But that sale may never happen...:)

Sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves and keep us from making mistakes we might regret ...

I was seriously looking at a 360 coupe, then drove a DB9 - that closed the door on the 360s. I just sold my 308 QV and do miss it. However, the 328 is more that a great compromise. If I want to get that "old feeling", I get the '70 XKE off the lift. And if I could find a nice '64 Pontiac GTO conv, I'd jump on it. Different cars for difference needs.

The problem is not too many cars, it's I never have enough garage space...... (Meeting with a architect next week to see if I can "expand" the golf cart bay.)

I strongly suspect this car thing has really some sort of mental disorder.....

Interesting proposition, obviously you're not the only one considering this. Also interesting, I have considered the move for the exact same reasons, safety and more acceptance by the wife.

But looks? No, the 308/328 wins.

Feel? Not sure, seems like a lot of people say the older machines are actually more fun to drive even if they loose in every performance metric next to the 360.

So yeah, it actually comes down to things like convenience and safety and stuff like that. And also just raw horsepower and torque.

Great story, I'm in the same boat. It's been hard to own a Ferrari as a family man but you seemed to have made it work.

My advice would be to sell, sell, sell! I think we are at the top of the 3x8 bubble. I just sold my 87 328 decent shape, belt service wayyyyyy over due and made out good. Just like you I am in the market for a 360 stick...modern safety features with the vintage feel of stick. For years it was all about ME, but after years and years of wifey complaining in July, in Florida with the ac on high and having it blow like grandma's warm breath....not to mention my bad knee which hurt to shift the cable clutch....I decided it was time to sell.

As Bob Sinclair, former CEO of SAAB North America and all around car guy said after driving the NSX, "... it's very fast but it has no soul."

That the 3x8's have in spades.

Do you guys remember the thread about a lady with the 328 that was asked by an F430 owner if she would like to trade her 328 for his F430 straight up no money added, and she said NO? Her reason was, she can always find or buy an F430 but it would be hard to find a mint condition 328. Even though it's an F430 which is very tempting, I think she made the right decision.

Seems to me there are 52 reasons you should, or shouldn't do it....
