Just wondering if taller drivers have any visibility or comfort issues with 360's? I sat in a spider in a showroom a couple weeks ago, and although I'm only 6' tall, I was surprised at how low the windshield frame was...in my case, it was pretty much in line with my forehead, and made me wonder if visibility would ever be a problem? It reminded me of how Tom sellecks head appeared about 4" over the windshield of his 308 on tv lol
I fit fine in my scud, but the seat position is too high for my liking. I also have a 308 and sit too tall in it too. It's my understanding they took out the seat rails and some of the seat padding to fit Tom in the cars they used in the show. I'm considering removing the rails in my 308 also. Once you find a position you like, you don't need to adjust the position of the seat.
The electric seats have a lot of adjustment and go pretty low. I am taller than you and I have no problems but my pants are 34L so maybe we are different proportions. For the gated car the toughest part about the car visibility-wise is looking back over the left shoulder in certain situations. Like when you are on a hill and stopped but ready to merge into fast moving traffic and are already at an angle less than 90 degrees to the flow. Man that sucks and we have a lot of hills here. The amount of twist you can get away with when you have both the clutch and brake pressed in is very limited.
360 Spider Here, Daytona Electric Seats. I'm 6'3. Would prefer manual sports seats, sometimes my vision is a little obscured with the mirror looking to the right. I also removed visors because they are right in line of sight. But the price we pay to drive a piece of art
I'm 6'4" tall with short legs (My inseam in only 32". I fit in my 360 Modena with plenty of room, no problems at all. I have electric sport seats
I'm 6'2" and I have some headroom but not a lot. But I've never had a moment when I thought I was too tall for it. This is with the top up in my 430 with electric daytona seats. My friend drove it the other day. He's 6'8" . He still fit and could drive it ok especially with the top down. He's been a passenger with top up and never complained. You will get used to it.
I am 6' 9'' tall and around 290 lbs. I kinda slump down in the seat and fit well enough to drive with the top down comfortably. I have also taken out the sun visors, they were too close to my eyeballs. I had a guy at one of the local Ferrari club meetings say that it looks like I am getting out of a 4/5 scale car, I would have been offended if it wasn't so true. The fact is there are very few cars that check as many boxes on my wish list like my 360 spider has, in my view the F360 is more of a grand touring car, with air conditioning and trunk space than pure sports car (like an Alfa 4C or a Lotus Elise).
Isn't that the truth. I really kind of hate the mirror because it often blocks view of the right side of an intersection. I don't find the visors to be an issue, I simply keep them flipped up. I changed to 458 CF seats and I really love them. Gives another inch or two or so of head room. I would also add that the Modena has an inch on the Spider.
I am 6' and fit well. I also have the carbon fiber seats and they are extremely low, which helps. I actually have to sit with the seat a couple of clicks up from the back as well, or I can't reach the pedals. Plenty of room. My wife is only 5'1" and finds she is actually too low in the car by comparison. She's actually been experimenting with sitting on a booster seat to be taller when she drives.
Thanks guys, might have just been the seat position I had. either that, or im morphing into a superhero, Torso Man.
Hey if you can make it work, we have to right to complain... except maybe Torso Man. My only stint as a superhero has been limited to "Wallet Man" due to my daughter's upcoming wedding... and my powers have shrunken significantly. If you need me you'll find me on the Kia forums.
Im 6'6 and the headliner on my 430 spyder cuts into my line of vision at stoplights. Otherwise as roomy as my ex 550...surprising...
I'm 6'1" and I found the seating terrible so much so I bought CF seats, now it's perfect driving position.
@6'1" my only complaint is that the seats seam to push my shoulders forward a little more than I would like. If you look at a picture, the insets near the top allow my back to sink a little into the seat and the surround pushes my shoulder forward more that I would like... If the seat were a couple inches taller, it would be perfect. In my '89 Maserati, there is not enough distance between the steering wheel and the pedals. The Ferrari 360 is much more modern and fits much better! American men are slightly taller and have longer legs than Italians from what I can tell from their cars and a few visits...
My physical stature is more like Fernando Alonso than Michael Schumacher so my Spider fits my like a flesh tuxedo. I don't get into the 360.. I put it on!
I'm 6'4" and completely comfortable in the car. I even have enough headroom to easily fit a helmet during track days.
I'm battling this right now and actually have the drivers seat tore out of my car at this moment. I'm 6'2 about 240#. I hate the seating position in my 360. Ive got a longer torso and shorter leg type build and my lack of headroom is really sucking the fun outta driving the car. I just bought a set of Sparco Milano reclining seats with the sliders and "Planted" brand, vehicle specific mount. It's no better than my electric oem seats.. (maybe worse). I could lose the brackets and that would get me another 3/4", but that's not near enough. Next step is bitter sweet I guess. Spend 10-15k for Ferrari carbon Sport seats because that seems to be the "fix". Not looking forward to writing that check however. Can't seem to find the slam dunk answer for an inexpensive aftermarket seat though. Thankfully I found these Sparco seats used so eating them won't be too painful.
