    Who attends or has attended this event? I was graciously alotted a volunteer's position in 2010 yet I did not plan ahead enough so I could not attend. I just submitted my volunteer application for the 2013 event in Sept and would really appreciate any advice. If the invitation still stands I will hopefully be making a stop in NY before proceeding on.

    Everyone is invited to volunteer. No experience necessary for most positions. Get your ham license and a radio if you don't have already and it'll help you get assigned to more interesting positions and keep you in the loop as the rally progresses (you aren't standing there expecting rally cars at a stage that has been canceled). I'm an official maybe this year. Depends how many other events I do prior. Usually do course opening car or sweep duty.

    I'm just gonna take it easy Dave and have fun and go where I am told. Hopefully I will make a few new friends and be invited back!

    Back from the dead! Just signed up for the 2014 event for stage operations or safety audit operations mainly because these positions offer accommodation's for the entire week (they even have a daily per diem). The rep I spoke with gave me some great info regarding travel and it seems that Continental has a direct connecting flight between Houston and St. Johns (only one connection in NY). Just got to renew my passport.
