Okay... I thought I did my research on this subject on this site before purchasing the Targa top cover that I was missing from my 1985 308 QV Euro. I received the cover that I got on E.bay, and its in very good condition has the Horsey Snaps as I learned was standard for the QV models, and I was told that it came from a 1983 QV, but the snaps are not compatible.

Is there more than one type of cover / snaps???????

My 308 seems to have the more common receiver snap like the one you find on boat covers, and not the Tenex ??? snaps like the one found on the fuse box relay electrical panel on the passenger side of the car. also my car has three receiver snaps on the rear deck and the cover only has two.

Does anyone have any information about this????

I took some pictures, and I hope it helps

Thanks in advance for your input.

Up to now I'd have said the cover is correct and your car's snaps are not - its just that your centre one looks quite car-specific on that sort of bracket

Come on chaps : educate us - was there a late variation ?

Hey Ed, my 328 has the clips per the cover you obtained. I had to replace one and it cost about $40. You could probably have standard snaps installed to match your car by any decent interior shop. The horsies will unscrew from the cover very easily.

Mine has the snaps like on the cover you bought. Looks like someone in the past replaced the snap pieces on the rear shelf. Mine is a euro car if there is a differance from a US car- I have no idea.

Thanks for the replys...does anyone have a picture of what the snap receiver on the rear shelf looks like?. I would like to have the right ones put on the rear deck to accomodate the cover and keep it original.

Anyone know where to get that part also???

The correct studs should be about USD 15 and are standard Ferrario spares - I'm pretty sure p/n 60727200

Someone put those snaps in your car other that the factory. Also, when the cover is on properly, there is no need for a middle one. The factory items are nice because you dont have to pull on that shelf everytime you remove the cover.

I just installed some from these guys:

    http://eagleday.stores.yahoo.net/tefaforpo.html

    German (GHE) TENAX® 4,2 X 16MM Sheetmetal/Wood Screw Peg
    Chrome-Plated Brass/Steel - TENAX-3000011 $2.25 each

They are an exact match for the Ferrari OEM items and worked flawlessly with the new cover from EBay for my '85 QV. Two were missing from my car. Very easy to install - just drill a small hole and screw them in.

Someone changed the studs in your car. What you have presently are incorrect.
