That is all.
Unless you have more to say which would be very interesting to hear, this is a useless thread. It has been hypothesised over so many threads so please tell us more as otherwise it's like telling a joke without the punchline-utterly pointless and a little annoying.
and just announce to 799 Ferrari buyer VIP's that they have been ****ed putting deposit and their signature on a purchase order for a car that will be immediatly outpassed by a roadster arriving just after!!? you can try!
What??? Apples and oranges. Did the 599 SA outpass the 599 GTO? Nope... They are two totally different cars, and like the 599SA, chances are that the F12 SA will be more like an F12 with a TdF engine, than a topless TdF. I doubt any TdF owners will feel cheated, and many will most likely be offered an allocation.
I think his point might have been that many of the owners are primarily looking for exclusivity and if the quantity is very low then, yes, I can see F12 TDF owners-to-be losing out while still on order. The best clients will still get anything they want and the rest still get an F12 TDF. No losers there especially when the TDF is flipped for the SA which will put used TDFs on the market.
Topless (removable fabric screen) or folding hard top? There is certainly enough space to accommodate a folding hard top. Maybe carbon fiber panels and capote cover to save weight?
I don't understand the fascination with the 599 aperta over the gto. If it uses the same philosophy as the 599 than the tdf will still be the "better" car overall.
I belive johns930 is legitimate and knows what he is talking about. Keeping in mind that Ferrari Middle East and Far East maybe approaching potential customers ahead of NA and Europe. The market in the east is not as sophisticated as the west, dealers and Ferrari people operate differently ...
I'm still in love with this, the one-off GT Aperta! http://gtspirit.com/wp-content/gallery/spotted-one-off-ferrari-gt-aperta/Spotted%20One-off%20Ferrari%20GT%20Aperta%20001.jpg http://gtspirit.com/wp-content/gallery/spotted-one-off-ferrari-gt-aperta/Spotted%20One-off%20Ferrari%20GT%20Aperta%20002.jpg http://gtspirit.com/wp-content/gallery/spotted-one-off-ferrari-gt-aperta/Spotted%20One-off%20Ferrari%20GT%20Aperta%20003.jpg http://gtspirit.com/wp-content/gallery/spotted-one-off-ferrari-gt-aperta/Spotted%20One-off%20Ferrari%20GT%20Aperta%20004.jpg
Without doubt there will be an F12 based Aperta, takes about three and a half IQ points to place that together. This thread is pointless until someone shares actual information of genuine relevance.
They did it with the SA Aperta. Limited to 80 cars after the 599 GTO. Was it a better car ? Depends on who you ask. But it will always carry a bigger value than the GTO. More recently, Ferrari did it again with the LaFerrari Spider. Half pointless I'd say. johns930 has some serious cars in his garage, and very often super early delivery. For him to say that maybe a hint that Ferrari is starting to poke around for an F12 or F12TDF based aperta.
I very much doubt it. Despite what has been posted I am positive there will be no tdf Aperta but that there will be an F12M tdf Aperta or whatever the M will be called.
... but can the bean counters resist the opportunity $$$? I very much doubt that On a side note; strange that seemingly no independent has chopped the roof of an F12 like several aftermarket suppliers offered on the 599?
