I have my 2004 360 Spider up on my lift and noticed a few places that could use some touch-up paint. I found a PPG Automotive Paint store and bought a pint of TDF Blue. I was surprised to see the list of colors that went into the mix formula; it was 68.1% violet, 21.8% Blue, 7.4% jet black and 2.7% fine aluminum. I matches my car perfectly so it was the correct mixture, guess I drive a violet car and not a blue one. :)

That color mixing is a dark science to me, a color blind person!

No, does not work that way. Mix yellow paint and blue paint together and you get green. Does not make her yellow or blue. If you have yellow paint and it looks a little too green, a dab of purple gets rid of the green hue. The experts know even more tricks.

TdF is a bit purplish. If you take a digital pic and boost the color saturation, it will show the purple tones pretty clearly.

Interesting because I really like TDF blue - because it I don't see any violet, red, green or any other weird tints in it. Good thing I'm not a paint professional.

I like TdF, too, and to human eyes, it doesn't appear purple at all.

My car is TDF and I'm told there are 3 shades. Sounds like you got lucky
