Texas Driver Magazine is calling all drivers of high performance cars across the Lone Star State for a day of fun at the MotorSport Ranch. Be part of the inaugural “Texas Driver Magazine Track Day” on August 14, 2004, as a group of driving experts teach participants enhanced skills and then zip around the road course during two open track sessions.

MotorSport Ranch is an 11 turn, 1.7-mile road course located in Cresson, Texas. Free of trees and hard walls with generous runoffs surrounding the track, it is one of the safest road tracks in Texas. The MotorSport Ranch is about 25 minutes southwest of Ft. Worth and 45 minutes from DFW Airport.

The TDM Track Day will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will finish at a6:00 p.m. A lunch will be served during the introduction and safety meeting, then we’ll have a “lead and follow” exercise designed to familiarize the participants with the track. After two more classroom sessions broken up by a high-speed “lead and follow,” students will be allowed to bring their personal car out onto the track for two open sessions, where they may practice any techniques they have learned during the day.

We expect a wide variety of cars piloted by drivers who want to enhance their skills in a safe environment. This type of events allows everyone to have fun and strike up new friendships. A Winner’s Circle Awards reception is planned immediately following the last open track session. The event is $195 and every participant must have a driver’s license, proof of insurance and signed waiver.

Texas Driver features the richest photography, profiles the most fascinating people, visits the coolest places and drives the most exciting cars in Texas. The magazine, which is published bi-monthly, was designed to reflect the culture and interests of car-centric Texans.
