For the past 2 years i have had a bit of a hankering for one (thanks Alfa man Dan) and the more i look at it the more i think I could make it work sometime in the not too distant future (fresh out of college). I sure as heck wouldnt be looking for a showroom perfect one but something i could clean up and do some work on myself. Would I be getting in over my head as this being my first "project car" Im by no means mechanically inept but im no expert either. Also what models would be a good car 1750 2000 etc etc. and could i make one into a 2000 GTAM?

O yeah and does anyone have a picture of a late 60s GTV in black?

Im sorry i dont know why i put GTV i meant GTA's

Check out alfabb.com. It has a great amount of info about all Alfa Romeos and restoration projects.

You need to be able to weld ...
Please don't ruin another one. If you want a GTAM replica buy a race car that has already been converted, or otherwise modified. Due to rust and relatively low production volumes there is not that many of these cars left in nice standard form.
Black is a horrible colour on them, but very dark blue looks good.
Again if you happen to find a nice original 60's GT, please sell it to somebody who wants to preserve a now rare car and buy one of the many already converted GTA replicas.

Enjoy in good health, wonderful little cars.
    Pete
