I'm cheering Alonso, Button, Honda. McLaren not so much.

    Other drivers, Bottas, Perez, Raikkonen.

    Teams, Williams , Ferrari.

For the 21 period we were in the dumps I would turn the TV off when both cars were out of contention or not in a podium position but this was generally because it was after midnight and I had a better offer for retiring early :)

As a kid when I was first exposed to Racing I cheered on the Driver - Jackie Stewart, Jackie Ickx and Emmerson Fittipaldi. But at the same time I was always watching Ferrari... It helped that My Grand Father kind of looked like Enzo Ferrari - and that we used to make him wear dark glasses to immitate him...

When Niki Lauda came to Ferrari in 74 - that was when I was firmly in the Ferrari camp, as well behind Lauda.

Infact the only drivers I've really followed are:

    1. Jackie Stewart - Matra
    2. Niki Lauda - Ferrari, Brabham , Mclaren
    3. Gilles Villeneuve - Ferrari
    4. Patrick Tambay - Ferrari
    5. Alain Prost - McLaren - Ferrari - Williams
    6. Schumacher - only when he got to Ferrari

While I followed Senna - i was never a huge fan... he was an amazing driver and nice guy but i just never got the Senna Magic.

For me it is more about drivers than team. Ferrari is my favorite team but I cheer for the drivers more.

I used to have a 1 favorite in the past but now I don't care as much - in the old if my favorite guy crashed or didn't win, my mood would be sour for some hours after the race. Now I am not so emotionally invested. If one of my faves (Alonso, Hamilton, Raikkonen, Vettel) win, great!

The only drivers who I don't care about are the slowpokes/moving chicanes or the guys without talent who paid their way into F1.

From a team perspective, I also have a soft spot for Williams mainly because of Frank Williams - I like his spirit and attitude. I used to like Sauber (till Aus 2015) as they were the perennial underdog.

Surprisingly no actually, especially since I go out to clubs/music festivals a lot. I'll have a couple drinks, but rarely do I get drunk. :)

I get whatyou mean on the slow poke drivers - but I suggest to you that even if they paid their way in like Max Chilton or Maldonado - they are way faster than any of us would be. To be in F-1 - in any team - means you are very good. even if you are paying for the drive.

they ( any F-1 Team ) would not let you just show up and give them $30m US for a drive in China.

If there's one thing I know, EVERYTHING has a price. May not be money necessarily though. :p

I know that they would better than me. No illusions about it. I am more annoyed that talented guys in Gp2 or otherwise are not getting a chance because they cant muster the budget.

Yes I know it is reality but it bugs me still.

The same thing about the GT2 class in WEC where they allow pay drivers to partner hot shoes. Yes there are talented drivers amongst them but there are also morons that buy a F458 ride and end up causing a big wreck in Le Mans.

    Drivers come and go.
    Ferrari is forever.

As Seinfeld observed, in these free agent days of mercenary athletes too often we're rooting for laundry.
