I have a tech question for my fellow F-chat members.

As you remember, on the iphone4s with ATT vs. Verizon:
On ATT's network, you could be on the phone and surf Internet at the same time. Also send & receive e-mails.
But on the Verizon network, it was voice only or data only, but not both at the same time.

So my question is for the iphone5: Does the same problem exist?

I do a lot of phones calls and need to be able to browse Internet and read and send e-mail during my 3-4 hour long conference calls.

So far, yes, that problem still exists.

Verizon uses its own proprietary (and crappy) CDMA protocol. The rest of the world uses SIM cards. This also gives you greater flexibility when travelling abroad.

With the newer smartphones you can do both simultaneously. As long as it has LTE.

IPhone works the same and iPhone will be LTE so it will have a SIM card.

I think over this late weekends update, my iphone 3GS won't upload photos to FB anymore, I like to think it's a planned obsolescence. I was planning on getting a 5 anyway but I'll most likely have to wait more than a month so, not sure yet about changing back to Sprint or staying with AT&T. Besides I'm sure the iphone will have quite a few bugs that will be needed to sorted out.

    To answer your question, yes.

You can't multitask (voice & data simultaneously) with Verizon.

I take issue with the comments about verizon tech being "crappy" do some research and you will find verizon has the most reliable network with the greatest speeds out there only thing I can honestly say we can be faulted for is price. But when it comes to reliability, speed, and service we can't be beat (I say this as someone who has had tmobile, att and verizon) and have also worked for all of these companies.
