Anyone find a detailed technical breakdown of the California? I'm looking for all of the fine details. Road & Track mentioned that the seats have a magnesium frame for example. And I notice that when the car is warm and even though it has been off for a while, when I get in the blower starts up to get some warm air moving even before I put the key in ... that is really very cool (warm) and cool things like that would be nice to know.

I also notice when it is shout down, much later you hear things blowing or pumps running under the hood. And when you start it you hear a pump start somewhere in the rear. It runs for a short bit then shuts down, but it also runs once in a while while driving.

Have I said it before?? This car is absolutely a dream to drive! It is about 12 degrees F outside but the roads shold be dry and I am about to take it to the office for a bit.

I noticed the same things. I was sitting in the car talking with an old friend. I shut off the engine. A few minutes later warm air began to vent to the interior. I assume this is part of the cool down program. When you shut down an engine, the coolant still is hot and needs to
be monitored for a while. Road cars have these systems which become active after you stop the engine. Racings cars frequently require a cool down lap or two before shutting off the engine.

    Hey Rick.
I am not positive, but the same sound in the back of my 360 i the F1 pump bringing the system up to operating psi. I would presume that's what it is. All the other things are music. It's when you don't hear them anymore that you should start to worry!

I agree that it is all music. I'm just curious as to what it all is.

I have had three 928's, a 78, an 86, and a 90. They were all Very reliable. With now over 2,000 miles on the Cali (even with days like today and snow on the roads so no Cali) in about 2.5 months no problems.
