Last week I visited Essen and there was no sign of a market going down....the 275 gtb alloy sold for 900k (asking was 950) euro's!!!! That is about 1.4 kk usd!! And almost no good cars available! Market is still very strong (in Europe).

    ciao

Hi Oscar: I noticed that 275 gtb is listed as a 6 carb alloy however in my personal 275gtb data base and books it is listed as a 3 carb steel car. Do you have any info on it?

There is a big mixed up with the 275 gtb's some are alloy and not to the books of Ferrari the same with 3C and 6C, but this car was a genuine 3c alloy car, and one of the most original ones in the world, the buyer paid a lot of money but has bought real art and not only a car.

    Hi Matt,

I have seen the car, nice but with dents and original, and that means a lot of work.....Engine compartment (I looked inside) was very original, and 3 carbs. But could use some mainenance. Interiour was very nice although I am not so into gold. But this combi, gold-red is so strange that it becomes nice. A lot of money....

Yep. That is alot of money. There is something about 275gtb's that people like. For me the next jump would be to a 250swb, but that is 3 times the price. I still think the 275gtb is undervalued for what it is even though there were quite a few made. Thanks everyone for the info on the car. Tracking the history of the 275 gtb 2 cams has been a hobby for about 10 years . matt

Oro chiaro/red...the same combination as my 330GTC. I does take some getting used to, but I like "unexpected" colors, and oro chiaro is brilliant in the sunlight.

I'm shocked that this was even disclosed. The last registry from 1997 has no information of the kind. Kudos to the seller for being up front.

This brings some questions to my mind...(please forgive me for being totally uninformed about the 275 gtbs):

    1. What is the value of an alloy bodied car that is listed as steel?

    2. What is the value of a steel bodied car that is listed as alloy?

    3. Are all of the ones listed incorrectly now identified?

The files and the facts don't match, but this does not mean any price difference! An original alloy is an original alloy, listed or not. And a steel is a steel car, even if it is listed alloy. It is quite hard to remake an alloy body without marks to see it is a remake. Price difference is nowadays about 75-150 euro more for an original alloy. The remakes are easily detected and have often some quite hideous marks like (non-original) outsied fillers, vents like the competizione and so.

    ciao
