The two gearboxes seem pretty much the same, and I haven't found any literature on this. What changes, if any were made for the F430 manual gearbox?

Also, as a separate topic, is the Audi R8 gearbox made by the same company in Europe that makes the Ferrari gearbox? If so, what is the name and location of the company? Is the R8 gearbox identical to either the 360 or the F430 gearbox?

Thanks. I was having a debate with my Dad and we need to clear this up!

Major difference is the e-diff. This is why there is a F-1 pump even on the manual gearboxes. There are some other slight internal changes.

As far as i know Getrag is the name of the company who makes the gearboxes for Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes and so on.
It's a German company. They have a base in North Carolina but the gearboxes for the cars mentioned above are made in Germany.
