Sorry to hear, for so many reasons. I got to know him (a little) in past few years at various events during Monterey week and he was always great to talk with.
    My condolences to family.

On a California road trip two years ago we called into Forza Motors in Monterey to say hello, and after a while John said come and say Hi to the guy next door, in we went and wow, an aladdins cave of ferrari spares opened up in front of us, and there was Ted working away, and happy to chat to a pair of Brits far from home. RIP Ted, enjoyed our meeting.

Man that is a shocker. Spent a lot of time at Ted's place. Always laid back and gave me the run of the warehouse from the first day. Always more than fair to me on my Dino parts hunting trips. Extremely sad news.

He sat with Andrea and I at the FCA Nationals in Virginia 2 years ago during the banquet. She had never met him before and just loved him after that evening. He was sick then and no one knew it.

In fact, she just asked me about him yesterday.

    I hate this.

Hi everyone, I was with Ted throughout his illness all the way to the end. I got go home to Texas from Tucker on Wednesday and Ted passed about 9:30 Thursday night. and I can tell everyone he is in a far better place. Everyone will be glad to know that the company Ted spent 35 years building will have its legacy carried on by one of the most respected Ferrari related companies in the U.S.

For those interested in sending flowers, cards, etc. to the family, here are the details-

    Lezlie, Teddy and Zach Rutland
    2101 Aldah Drive
    Tucker, GA 30084

The funeral and reception have been scheduled. If you would like the details, please PM me.

Lastly, in typical Ted Rutland fashion, Teds Urn is as unique as Ted's character- MPI is taking a 308 block and customizing it to make his Urn. Of course those who knew Ted would expect nothing less.

    Best,

    Cody

He helped me with the most minor items and gave me his full attention. And called me at home several times to let me know where his search stood. Wonderful man. Glad to see the picture of him.
