    Ted,
Thank you for all the help you gave me over the years. It was the conversation we had when I broke my column switch back in 2002 that directly led to my founding Unobtainium Supply!

    You'll be greatly missed.

Sadly, My greatest regret is that we never met in person.

I don't believe anyone has posted a link to Ted's obituary, here it is:

I always thought very highly of him and the folks at T. Rutlands, and I agree with others who opined that no small part or ignorant question was trivialized by them. My next spirited run up through the gears will be in his honor. RIP and thank you!

What a bummer. He was one of the first guys to help me when I got my 308 a couple years ago. My condolences to his family.

Reading his urn will be made from a 308 block- f'ing amazing.

Wow, just saw this and sorry to hear of Ted's passing. Great guy and was tremendous help with parts sourcing for my first Ferrari, a 1978 308 GTS. Always helpful, and amazing knowledge and advice, (which I always accepted without question).

    He will be missed... :(

Great picture of Ted, driving a 166 Barchetta on the Colorado Grande. He was a Ferrari parts titan and lived life exactly how he saw fit. RIP Ted.

The Strongest individual I have ever known. A Fighter/Survivor with a heart of Gold. Had to work for everything he ever had. The Very Definition of Self Made Man. When he started working at Ferrari of Atlanta(washing cars), he rode a small motorcycle to and from work. In the winter and rain he would wrap himself in trash bags and secure with duct tape to try to stay warm. There has never been anyone tougher and kinder than Ted.
He will be missed is a Huge Understatement .

Is T Rutlands still open? Website doesn't have any working links, and when I try to log on BING blocks me as its listed as hosting malicious software?

    Did they close? Sell out?

Their website never really went live & doesn't reflect their actual inventory.

Calling is the best way to find out what ANY of the F* suppliers actually have on hand.

    Guys...

I realize this is 2016 and we live in cyberspace now on our smart devices but those things everyone carries everywhere all the time including to bed has a phone feature.

Call them. I know it's old fashioned but that will work 100% of the time. I promise. :)

Rutland's is very much going. I was just there two days ago. The place runs like a tightly wound clock. Though Ted can never be replaced, Brian, Lee, and Mitch, are outstanding and between the 3 there is nothing they don't know.

I called and reached them. They said they were having issues with their web host...

In this day and age, a dead web page suggests the business is dead to a new customer...

Hi all! Yes we are still open and cranking. Yes our website has been having problems for years but as Doc Tommy said just call us. We are super busy and our used parts inventory is massive. I'm happy to help each and every one of you! :) Thanks everyone.

There's another thread going on right now about deposits and customer service that reminded me of how businesses can get it wrong while others, like what Ted Rutland started, get it so right and it starts with core values. I always had excellent service and experiences with Rutlands. The rare occasions when things were not to my expectations, they bent over backwards to make it right, even if they may not have felt obligated to do so or if it cost them a little. The good will and loyalty generated is priceless.

We often jump on those that get it wrong but let's not forget those that understand the importance of their customers' satisfaction, like Rutlands. Ted would be proud that he instilled these values in his entire organization, I'm sure.

    Just my two cents.

Hiya Phil, no Serio retired a few years back. He is still living in Atlanta and is doing well. We speak to him weekly! :) I've known Serio since 1984!
