Dear Pav, You are right. It is highly original and underwent a sympathetic restoration a couple of years ago. It took part in last years rally, and if I remember correctly, placed among the top 5. This year, it was entered in the rally under new ownership. Another car which again took part in the rally was this Renault 5 which also placed among the top 5 last year. This is day 2 of the rally, which was in fact a tour of the region with lunch in the city of Rasht, in neighbouring Gilan Province. We were the guests of the Gilan Province Automobile and Motorcycle Federation Chaper and their Classic Car Committee. Hi, Once we crossed from Mazandaran Province to Gilan Province, the Gilan Chapter of the Automobile & Motorcycle Federation was waiting to escort us to lunch. These include a bevy of superbikes, a Maserati, a number of Porsches, late model Camaro's and a souped up Genesis Coupe. Ms. Laleh Seddigh is in the CLS as she gives them a run for their money. LAst year she was in a 750il and ended up shearing off her marshal stickers with her high speed runs. I think this year she did not even bother sticking them on. Hi, These Camaro's were part of our escorts. A couple of times the older Camaro's (SS, Z28, Motion) went head to head with them, and the older cars did their share in taking the smirks off the newer Camaro owners faces. They seemed to have come straight out of a Fast and Furious movie. The only differnce is that unlike the cars in the movie, they did not have 25 forward gears ! Hi, The lunch was a nice catered affair by the Gilan Province Motorcycle and Automobile Federation Chapter and their Classic Car Committee. They really went all out.
