Hi, I gained an appreciation for the Alvis brand after trying to keep up with this car all the way to Tabriz which was in the hands of a very, very capable driver (who was a real gentleman by the way, taking the time to answer our incessant questions). Regards, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, An absolutely gorgeous Alfa. On the road, whenever this car came to overtake me I always ,made sure to have all the windows down to take in the sound. Regards, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry to derail the thread, wasn't sure if there was a better place to ask. Can someone point me in a right direction on common Iranian dishes to cook? Recipes for a novice in English would be ideal Thank you!
Here are my favorites: Baghali polo (Fava beans) and rice (polo) and easy to make Zereshk polo (barberries) so good and easy to make Ghormeh sabzi (my all time favorite) Khoreshteh Bademjan (most peoples favorite dish/egg plant stew) Khoresteh Gheymeh (another classic stew)
Hi, Dude how could you leave out Fesenjoon (ground walnuts, chicken, pomegranate paste) on rice. Then there is the mainstay of Chelo Kebab (kebabs and rice). Best Wishes Ramin
Hi, Sorry for the leave of absence, had a lot on my plate. More 2010 Peking to Paris Pics. If not anything the paint job on this car really stood out. Regards, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, This 1923 F.N motorcycle was ridden by Tim Scott for the whole 14,000 k.m trek. While in and itself this was a great feat, it bears mentioning that apparently Tim was 70 years old at the time. Reagrds, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, The Alvis and a last minute adjustment to the Go Pro before heading out to the rally start. Regards, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, The rally was quite diverse with everything from this Rolls Royce to the 1967 Turkish Anadol pictured as well. Regards, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, It's been a few years and I can't remember her name, but she was Alaistair Caldwells navigator in the1939 Alfa 6C I pictured earlier. They were a great team with some awesome driving in the Alfa. Regards, Ramin
Hi, Pursuant to my preceding post, here is another shot of the Alfa. The co-drivers name was Catriona Rings and here is a shot of her getting ready for the Rasht / Anzali to Tabriz stage. She along with the majority of the participants, despite the grueling pace of the rally, were always polite, gracious and very respectful to all they met. Hi, Our local VW Beetle club hooked up with this entrant, Gerald Staples from the US and Gernold Nisius from the Netherlands and exchanged gifts and a small plaque from the Iranian club. Shared passions are universal. Regards, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, The As-Salem to Khalkhal road which was part of the route to Tabriz is one of my top ten driving roads. Unfortunately, my guys and I were so busy providing support, finding lost entrants, translating etc that we could get pictures sporadically. This picture is from the end tail of the As-Salem -Khalkhal which we were able to take while taking a quick breather. I wish we could have taken pictures on the actual route to be able to better share the breathtaking beauty of this road. Here is one of the cars emerging out of the fog that enveloped this road. Hi, A 1951 Alfa Romeo Mata AR51. I kind of question the wisdom of going to war in a military vehicle built by Alfa. Then I found out that Mata apparently means "Mad". Talk about product marketing at its best. Sorry Alfisti, could not resist. Wishing everybody the happiest of holidays, Ramin Image Unavailable, Please Login
