    I love my 328.

I only have room for 1 Fcar.

What are the reasons to move to a 348?

    Great brotherhood?

    Cool shirts?

    More HP?

    Faster, better handling?

Closely related to the best looking Ferrari ever? (355)

    Exciting engine outs?

I think a low mileage well kept 328 retains higher value today and in future but undoubtedly the 348 is a better performance car and as good looking as the 328.

must be a biased opinion. got to get to a 355 before the good looking kicks in... lol. without power steering the 348 is a non starter in my life. The large rubber makes it a bear to drive at lower speeds in tight quarters

I've personally put 63,000 miles on my 328. Other than the AC, it's fine to drive.

    The power steering is overrated.

It just saps HP. Really, once you get moving, it doesn't require "strength" to turn the wheel.

And seriously, how often to you actually parallel park a 348?

Most cars (at least in Germany) didn't have power steering until the early 80s.

My first two cars (Opel Kadett and Opel Ascona) did not have ps. No big deal.

Just me, but 328 vs. 348, I'd stay with the 328.

    That is funny!

Agree re Power steer, unless you are parallel parking the car it is no big deal, lightens up very quickly

To add to your list, how about more interior room and better all round visability?

    A/c that actually works

ABS brakes (assuming the 328 in question was an earlier version)

Never. $20,000 valve jobs scare me right off that car.

I actually _did_ have someone offer me a straight trade for his 355 coupe vs. my 328 GTS, but his was laying out a serious smoke cloud. I passed on that deal.

The only reason to swap your 328 for a 348 would just be for the hell of owning a different Ferrari IMHO. All adds up to make your life more fun, but you won't be arriving anywhere quicker in a 348 than a 328.

Because you really want to spend twice as much on service, you have felt over the years that you have not put nearly enough money into service and parts for your 328 and the 348 would give you that empty feeling in your wallet that you have been longing for.

Obviously with a question like that, "Tell me why I should upgrade to a 348" you are going to get biased opinions and positive and negative answers!

So heres my say - First of the modern looking Ferrari`s (my opinion) not having Power steering isnt a problem, running costs if you do servicing properly is quite expensive, but thats a given when buying most F cars!

Its comfortable and a lot more modern inside, the A/C is nice (when its working).

You can get good upgrade parts for it from Hill engineering.

Sounds awesome when fitted with a Tubi, oh and decats :)

    Hope this helps

Other than the cabin size, there is no significant benefit to a 348 IMO.

If you fit in a 328, I think it is hard to argue the "upgrade" to almost any other mid-engine Ferrari.

The 328 lines are unmatched, the gated shifter, the pure steering and handling. Add to that a durable interior, durable driveline, and lower maintenance costs? What is not to like?

And a well-driven 328 is a very fast car in the twisties, even by today's standards.

For the prices I have seen some 512/Boxer/TR's, why would you not just go that way?
They are not THAT much more than a good 348, 30-40k or so.
