    Gentlemen

It is widely accepted the koni system is a dog.I havent really bothered with mine and it has already been fixed once and the previous owner fixed it twice.

It seems to be in some way linked to the adjustable suspension settings on the console. When this flashes 'error' - its dead. But when the light is green, that usually meant it was okay.

Currently, all is green - the suspension setting changing automatically for road conditions - so I presume its all okay (steering is fine,no loss of fluid,I know the 2 things are linked).

But nothing happens when I'm pressing the button to get it to lift.

I am in amsterdam, holland and the speed bumps by the canals are enormous.I've lost a bottom plate of the front of the car and I'm having the front painted next week so would like to preserve it.

Is there a fuse I have to check? Or some other little trick I could do to get the lift to work?

    best regards

    Nick

you need to press the shock absorber switch to raise the front, it is located between the two window switches. I made mistake of pressing the system display up arrow switch which was the wrong one.

FWIW: My 99 SV with 7500 mile has never had a problem with the lift system. I never leave the lift extended if it is not in use.

    Dear Lamborghinisti,

When you push the Lift button ( picture of shock absorber ), do you see the "lift" light (picture of shock absorber) on the dash. When you push the button, you should see the light flash as it goes up. As it attains it's max height, the flashing becomes a solid light on.

    Is the light working?

Start at the basics. Pull the switch and check the connections. Test the switch, perhaps it's bad. ( seldomly used switches go bad due to the contacts oxidizing )

    Check the fuse / relay

Next, check the wires at the pressure valves ( behind and to the rear of the coolant expansion tank )

    Let us know.

As you are finding out, the two are NOT linked. The steering fluid redirection into the shocks is independent of the suspensions settings. Consider the rear shocks, no fluid - but still adjustable shocks. The shock light on the dash stays flashing to indicate lifting system issues. From your description its pretty clear the issue is NOT the shocks themselves.

The rear shocks (4) do not have any fluid in them????

The rear shocks have fluid in them but are sealed units. The rear units are not like the front which have a hydraulic line each running to them to pressurize the lifting system ( front only). The rear shocks do have an electrical connection making them respond to the active suspension system settings.

In regards to steering fluid - no. The point is that the damping system in the rear shocks and the front shocks is the same and has nothing to do with the lifting system. The shocks damping system is made up of an internal bafflle system altered by a little embedded motor that is controlled and sensed electrically by the KONI ECU.
