Was wondering if anyone has experience with 458 headlights during the day the both side lights come on, at night only one side activates when starting in the car in the dark. however if i start the car in an underground paking which is well lit no issues. does anyone know if there is a sensor in the headlights that needs to be changed

What position is headlight switch in? I leave my switch in the off position and have not noticed any issue. The light sensor is the center bulb in the dashboard. Presumably there is nothing blocking it. This seems to me like it is an idiosyncrasy of the Ferrari that you are describing. Try it with various positions of the light switch and if it seems operationally normal when going from off to on or off to auto, than that is what I would do, after figuring out which switch pattern works the best. Headlights or daytime running lights? May be a bad connection, loose connection or something in the software/canbus that is erratic. Run the codes, clear any that may show up and record them if related to lighting system. Try a reset by disconnecting battery for awhile and retry then. Probably a dealer will have to sort this out. May be a bad light sensor on dash that is giving the error. GL with this issue.
