Which Ferrari race cars did Temple Buell Jr own in the 1950s?
I'm not sure about Ferraris, but when I interviewed him back in 196, his focus had been on Maseratis. He was involved in getting Masten Gregory's getting rides in F1 (250F) and sports cars (450S). Maybe you're thinking of Tony Parravano who, along with Frank Arciero, were very big into Ferraris in the '50s.
375MM #0372AM (1955/56) 750 Monza #0502M (1956) 290MM #0626M (1957) 500TR #0652MDTR (1956/7) 500TRC #0658MDTR (1957) - maybe only on loan from Chinetti 500TRC #0668MDTR (1957/8)
It's obvious from the later replies in this thread that Buell did own Ferrari race cars. My point was that when I interviewed him in '61, he was completely focused on the Masers he had owned and how Masten Gregory had performed. You have to remember that 10 years before Gurney's blue/white F1 Eagles, there were Buell F1 Maseratis with the same US "colors" in F1.
