Yup, I've had one since 98 IIRC. It was just before they launched all the infomercials.

Pluses - yes, it is great. The pillows are fantastic.
Minuses - in cold weather it is hard, not as a rock, it just takes time to warm up.

If your back is messed up, it might not be right for you. It really depends on how old a back injury or ache is. For me, it is right, most of the time. But sleeping on my side, it doesn't absorb my arm as much - if that makes sense.

Drop me a note or ask further questions here.

Do you get warmer from this mattress, since I am assuming you sink in more?

I don't have a Tempur-Pedic bed. I remember talking to a person about the tempur-pedic and she said she heard they are great beds but bad for your love life. She joked that you would have the tempur pedic bed to sleep and you would have to get another "normal" bed to have fun. Schatten or other tempur pedic owners could tell you whether or not that is true.

you don't sink in more. that's actually what other matresses do. it is pretty solid until pressure or weight is put onto it. Then only by the measure of that weight, will that sink in. It isn't like a normal matress where one indention of your knee into the matress will cause the rest of the matress to sink down. But in regards to warmer - nope. Sheets are typically cold until you get into the bed. I plan to get a thin 1" pad to get a bit of cushion and warmth that is.

Can be quite true. It isn't as fun because it isn't forgiving enough.

We love ours. My wife and I both have back problems and it's the only bed that consistently is comfortable. I have not experienced any differences due to ambient temperature and as for l'amour, it's just fine (no waterbed, but hey; what is?).

Here's the money question to those who own it; would you buy another one when it is time to replace it?

I'd buy another one, but only to upgrade to a larger size. It doesn't need replacing like another matress. There isn't any flipping involved, but every few years, I'll rotate it.

we replaced our bed a year or so back and i looked at a LOT of options.

in the end we went for a hybrid solution. it's a sealy. the bottom third of the mattress is pre-tensioned springs - so it's like a standard mattress, but the springs are under more tension when they're locked in place than they would be normally. the top third of the mattress is the tempurpedic-like foam.

we've been VERY happy with it. it purportedly requires no rotating/flipping - hopefully that's true!

no downside -vs- a standard mattress re: boudoir activities.

    other thoughts on this...

Sheets - the corners are square, not round like typical matresses. You'll need to get something that goes over and fits it. Some sheets do not.

The hybrid option might be a little more relaxed. I'd give the TP a shot or the hybrid a shot too. Go into a Relax The Back store or something similar and try them out. Ask questions and make sure you don't just plop your butt down on the matress. Laydown, like you were sleeping. On your side, on your back. Close your eyes. Project yourself into your home. Does it work? Which one do you feel better about in regards to satisfaction guarantees?

My cousin is a physical therapist and she highly recommends them. Although, I'm not sure if she uses one...
