My 355 has the tensioner bearings (X2) by Hills Engineering, and its part number is PT355. My mechanic has pointed out that the core is made of two pieces and not single solid piece and suggest I should exchange them with the OEM. Have anyone had any experiences with these tensioner bearings by HE? Any quality and reliability differences compared to the OEM? Any input and suggestion will be appreciated.

I have installed several sets of Hill Engineering tensioners with confidence. Along with their clutch release bearings and seals. All of their products are top quality. In many cases they improve on the original Ferrari part they replace. I would leave them installed. I would recommend checking the belt tension with an ultrasonic tension meter.

I have them on order from Daniel at Recambi to go in my car in a few weeks. They are supposed to be a vast improvement on the OEM bearing.

I'd be exchanging your mechanic for one that knows what he's talking about! Seriously, they are a gazillion times better than the OEM junk.

Bearings can last a few months or many many years. The H. E. bearings are better designed and because the roller is wider the load is distributed better and more evenly. Mine felt so good last engine out service that we left them in. They have now been in for 6 years and Ill bet they will last another 6 or more but Im not a betting man so ill change them next service in 2 years. If a bearing is going to fail, it will fail in its early days because of a bad design or a defect. After that they last a long time especially the H. E. bearings

Start by looking for the notch behind the first cam bearing cap on each cam, engine at TDC.

I was told that Hill bearings are designed for replacement every other major, but it truly depends on how the car is driven, if at all, during the 5 year interval between majors. Drive it consistently, but not excessively. Not too many track days. Not too much red line time. Keep the engine bay dry and garaged. Should be good for 10 years, Hills' stuff is that well made. That's what I'm planning.
