A good tour de force (sp?) and a lot of really cool cgi and action. A total boy flick and you will all like it I suspect. My gripes are few and some are petty but one or two are huge.

    Spoilers below....

1st gripe. Terminators missing with mini-guns??? Are you fraking kidding me? These guns go at 1000 rounds a minuet just for starters. If we NEVER miss with one, how does a machine? Yet our heroes dodge them left and right like they are dodging water pistoles.

2nd gripe. Bail does a good job but I think he had contract problems as he was filming Batman at the same time. He is really not in this movie quite that much. It is like he is a little more than supporting actor.

3rd BIG TIME GRIPE. The ending. My gods what were they thinking? They do a heart transplant in the middle of the desert in an open tent??? and then JC is supposed to be ok with out about 2 years of therapy. It totally blew my "suspension of disbelief" Plus, it was just stupid. The T-whatever says, "Hey, give him my heart!" after beating up on every thing to survive...? Please. I think McC must have run out of money or something.

4th gripe. The female pilot who frees the T-Whatever.... Why was she not just shot when captured?

Ok, I haven't seen it yet but: Christian Bale is not convincing as leading man/hero type. Simply doesn't have the machismo for it. I thought his portrayal of Batman was so weak I couldn’t sit through the movie. Michael Biehn was much better as John Connor's father in the original movie.
BTW: I have a framed original Terminator movie poster I snagged from a local theater.

That ending is sounds better than these 2 McG hinted about.

The first one actually seems "plausible" (no therapy, no rapid recovery from wounds, etc.), but completely kills the point of Terminator 2....The other sounds even dumber the movie's current one.

Machine guns with high cyclic rates are music to my ears.

You would think after a nuke blast, the EMP's would disable everything with a circuit board but radios, cars, computers, etc still run. Even a jeep parked at the Griffith Observatory will start after sitting for 15 years with air still in tires & gas in the tank. I know, leave your brain at the door when you see this film.

Maybe it's because I saw it with my wife and she was hates these types of movies, but I thought Terminator was pretty weak. Much like Watchmen, the trailer was better than the film. I loved Christian Bale as Batman, but I don't think they used Bale to his full potential; maybe he was simply miscast. Also, I thought the script and overall story arch was fairly vacuous, with McG dazzling with CGI to distract the audience from the fact that there really was no compelling story, and the story bits that did exist did so in simply unbelievable fashion. At the end, I was thinking the same thing - a heart transplant in the desert with helicopters blowing sand all over the place? Marcus just happened to be a donor match? Also, some thug mentioned earlier that antibiotics were scare, and they just happened to have an ample supply of cyclosporin or other such anti-rejection drugs? Adjectives fail me at three o'clock in the morning, so I leave you with a simple, "meh."

I just watched the movie about 30 mins ago. Not bad actually. Obviously, the story is a bit mixed up, but the effects and Marcus Wright chraracter was superb.

I too checked out at the end. When I mentioned that to my friends who were with me, the response was "-that's- where you can't suspend your disbelief? Not time travel, killer thinking robots, skynet, but at a heart transplant?"

Fair enough, but that heart was punched hard enough to stop, the blood type matched, transplant in a tent, and for me the worst -- they had anesthesia that worked on a Terminator?

Meh. I'd rather see one of the darker endings.

I thought it was fun to watch and had good CGI, but it had too many "WTF?!?" moments. I liked Bale in this, but it's nothing compared to him in Equilibrium. If you haven't seen it, go get it today. One of my top 3 movies. I always figured this series would end with a "surprise" that Connor is a Terminator, so we'll see.
