News reports saying he's not showing up for off season work outs. His response is, he's been working out by himself.

Obviously TO has not changed or learned from past mistakes. He did the same thing in Philly. He's already seprating himself from his team in Dallas.

It's just a matter of time till SHTF.

I used to like Dallas. Now I can't pull for them if they want to reward his type of behavior. That is why athletes act the way they do, because they know they can and get away with it.

Mike Pridgen, Washington D.C.: I've heard a lot of talk about Terrell Owens lately, negative talk. I've read how Bill Parcells didn't want T.O. I've also read how T.O. is not going to the voluntary workouts and people are making a big deal out of this. I've read things from sources, but it's all speculation. I won't believe it until I read about it on or hear it from someone on here. Can you shed some light into all of the T.O. accusations as of late?

Mickey: Here is my understanding of the workout situation with Owens. He showed up the first day of the team workouts after he signed, but over the next couple of weeks, he was not attending regularly, for whatever reason, and my understanding again is that he had some previous commitments before he signed with the Cowboys. I can tell you this: He was there working out with the team on Thursday. Guys are asked to get in 40 workouts - four a week - and if they do, then they get a workout stipend. Not bad, eh, getting a little chump change for working out, which you should be doing anyway? If you miss, you can make them up at some point over the spring and summer.

John Burgess, Sedan, N.M.: Can you give us your expert insight to how well T.O. is fitting in to the off-season workouts, such as is Drew Bledsoe throwing to him and his rapport with those that are at off-season conditioning?

Mickey: I can tell you this: Bledsoe's dad, on a local Dallas TV morning show, being interviewed for a parenting seminar he was giving, said Drew and T.O. were scheduled to have their first throwing session on Thursday. As for his rapport with teammates, if he hadn't been attending the off-season workouts regularly, I'd imagine there wasn't much. But remember this. Conditioning has never been Owens' problem.

You, too, can email DallasCowboys.com Columnist - Mickey Spagnola - I doubt you'll be wanting one of Owen's jerseys, though http://www.cowboysonlineproshop.com/main_objgroup.cfm?nCategoryID=&nObjGroupID=235&sAuxTitle=Terrell%20Owens

T.O. is the Barry Bonds of the NFL.

I have more respect for Bonds.

I think the Cowboys wrote stuff into his contract to stop some of his past antics, it'll hurt him in the pocketbook. After Dallas, he may be done.

iirc, espn REPORTED THAT TO's contract is the standard form contract for the NFL and there is no language regarding behavior detrimental to the team; i think what will happen is he will have some sort of meltdown and they will end up playing him sporadically.

Keep in mind these are optional, off-season workouts that he has no obligation (at least I don't think) to attend. If he says he is working out on his own, he probably is. You don't get to be the best receiver in the NFL by being lazy, that is for sure. There are plenty of players on teams around the league that don't attend these workout sessions.

If I'm not mistaken, if Coach Parcells had it his way, then he expects 40 of these "optional" workouts be attended by each member of the team.

October 8 is going to be an ugly day.

Bottom line remains: TO is not a Team Player.

Really? I am surprised you can have any respect for anyone who actively cheats at his or her own sport or profession.

I think that he's talking about degrees of respect at the low end, not the high end.

As in, oo, I stepped in dog shyt with both feet. On the left, I have Bonds Dog Shyt, and on the right I have TO dog shyt.

The right shoe would get wiped first.

I agree with what you are saying, I was simply surprised with the thought that one would put TO above Bonds, even at the bottom of the respect scale. Because TO is still a great athelete who doesn't cheat. He may be like a tumor to a team, but as a person he isn't a thief of sorts.

How about we say we have no respect for either of them.

TO is just cocky and an idiot. Bonds is cocky, an idiot, and a cheater who is ruining (or attempting too, how many HRs/hits does he have so far?) one of the greatest records in baseball.

Sorry. Not even close! TO is just an ******. Bonds' resume of illegal BS makes TO's look like nursery school!

I still haven't seen any concrete proof come out yet (and that's a Big LOL).
Besides, unless I am mistaken, what he 'took' was legal at the time, just like it
    was for Mark McGuire. (HgH)

Both are disrespectful for different things, one for drug (?) allegations, one for not being a team player in a team sport.

I wish we could do something about the record book, I don't think we can. Besides, Sadaharu Oh has the HR record, not Aaron, we just don't recognize Japanese records over here.

'Respect' is something a person earns, or not, there is no in-between, I have no respect for either of them.

Where I was coming from on my above statement was, if YOU were on a team, and everyone gave 100% on and off the field EXCEPT for one individual, would you get pissed ? What if half the team decided to skip practice and work out on their own ? What if 3/4 of the team did ? Where does it stop ?
My choice of Bonds was, he shows up, he doesn't disrespect the team, he still has great workout skills, he isn't making a mockery of team management.

Read an article this a.m. - seems Bonds got booed and chanted at big time at Dodger Stadium Friday - rain delay for almost 2 hours - hecklers going ape the whole time - even when he was in the clubhouse.

If TO performs, no one will give a crap about whether he attended optional workouts. Even if one dislikes TO, it shouldn't be about an optional workout.

Not talking about his 'roids. Talking about his self-dilutedness(i made up a word). He does not associate with teamates, has his own locker cornered away from everyone else, will take a teamate to lunch and then never speak to them afterwards and invokes the silent treatment on nearly everyone. I could go on and on.

How can anyone be surprised by this? You just can’t stop being who you are, I knew this would happen and I believe it will only progress as the season nears. H e will never change and some team will always pay him until he retires because he fills seats and keeps the team name in the media.
