I don't usually write things about experiences at car dealers but my time spent dealing with wide world was one of the worst I have ever had. I was looking for a 430 coupe and the manager, mike, came out and didn't even shake my hand. He kept answering his phone during our conversation and was yelling to the person on the other end. This guy was totally rude and did not take me seriously at all. I left several messages and he never once returned my call. I was really turned off by the whole thing.

In any case, I bought an 06 430 coupe from New England and was very pleased. RED/Tan shileds, daytona's, hi fi. They were great. JUst thought you guys should know.

Been to that dealership quite a few times, they always seem pretty cocky, like most dealers for that matter. i never understand they sell ferraris, they don't own them, and even if they did you'd think they'd be more humble about their success.

I went to visit a few different dealers when I was looking.
WWoC was the worst... Staff was rude..

Now on the other hand the other places were great, Ferrari of trenton and Classic coach. Complete Gentlemen (and Ladies)

Please refrain from being inquisitive or providing your own personal opinion while in the NY Tri-state section. There apparently is low tolerance for this. Although this section is probably the deadest of forum sections on this site, apparently we have a moderator who feels that clamping down on discussion will yield better results.

I was a small fish looking for a 400i 5 speed 10 years ago and called Wide World to see and drive one that they had for sale. Set up an appointment to view and drive the car and drove an hour to their showroom only to find out that they had not gotten it out of deep storage behind many other cars in their storage building as they had promised. I could look at the car but could not hear it run and of course not ride in it or drive it.

Needless to say I was not impressed and found my 5 speed in southern California and never looked back at WWOC. Life is too short and there are too many good dealers out there to bother with them if I were ever to be in the market for another F car.

I have always been much more warmly welcomed by Werner Pfister at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich even though about all I buy there are oil filters and other parts from time to time. He is a class act.

Edit: Just saw that OP is on his first post and recently joined. Normally I wouldn't comment on a first post that is a complaint about someone.

I am a devoted Ferrari of Central New Jersey customer (7 in the past few years). They are class; I spoke with WWOC a few times a few years ago. Not interested. They have had so many complaints from folks I know and are such fair weather dealers, that life is surely way too short to deal with them......

I guess you don't write at all seeing that it is your first post!
Question is, who will service your car??
I know a lot of people who can take or leave the sales department, but that doesn't mean you have to discredit the entire dealership.

I am a staunch supporter of Ferrari of Central NJ, but I have also had very good experiences at Classic Coach and Miller Motorcars.

I purchased my car from a private owner in Southern California,I have had it serviced at Wide World since. Oil changes, battery trickle charger set up and belt service.I have nothing but positve things to say about the service team especially Justin who has treated me with respect from day one.
I also must say I disagree with the op on Micheal you may have just caught him on a bad day and although that's no excuse he is a gentleman and a pleasure to chat with.
    regards
    Frank

I had a major service done on my car years ago by WWOC (regular 15% discount on service in winter + they took off some more for doing a major, a new clutch and some other minor things). I had a water pump belt slipping shortly after - they repicked up the car and resolved it and never had another issue. Been visiting almost all the dealers in the area for years and have never been treated poorly by any of them.

Maybe, but how realistic is that? Generally if one representative of a company turns me off, I will look elsewhere for everything.

Looked at a 328 at WWoC years ago; they didn't take me seriously. Inquired about a major service there once; service manager never got back to me. They're off my list...

Couldn't agree with you more. FoCNJ is also a great dealership. Chris Miele has always been extremely welcoming.

Had nothing but positive experience with service and parts department. Justin and Deane have always been responsive and profesional. They are currently undertaking a project on my 360's interior and have been great.

Of course this doesnt excuse someone being rude but we all have bad days. 14 years ago and 6 cars back a sales person at Paul Miller Porsche suggested that "one day when you can afford one it would be worth taking a test drive". He also commented on my tattered jeans and baseball cap. The next week and every car since I have driven by with my most recent purchase and said hello. Consequently I may not be the best person to suggest forgiveness but Wide World has been good to me.

I have never been a owner yet but have been a long time lurker on here and many other forums. I have heard many stories about WWoC and lots of those stories echo what is being said here. I have never heard one bad thing about FoCNJ to this day and when the time comes it will be the first place I stop into to inquire about moving up to a Ferrari.

There was a salesman there named Billy who found me my 308. He was awesome and put in alot of time to find me exactly what I was looking for, and it took him a year. I doubt he made much on it, but he really went out of his way for me.
The other guy was a total a**hole, and wouldn't even look at me. When a high-roller came in, this idiot just about kissed his ass.

Wide World sold a car out from under a friend a few years ago. Typical quick buck move. Cost them several sales in the years since then plus the lost service revenue.

Sounds like you had a wonderful experience at Wide World, they got you a 308.... there is always that one salesman who wants the big bucks, and that is why you don't deal with him, go with the guy who respects every dollar earned...big or small.

That's the way I look at it as well. I don't think that Billy made much selling me a 308, but he treated me like I was buying a 599.

What the arrogant as*hole types don't get is that the guy who buys a 308 today might walk in 6 months later with cash in pocket to buy a 250.

I wouldn't buy a bottle of water from Wide World of Cars!...You wouldn't believe me if I told you...some of the the original Fchatters know my experience...there's probably a thread about it somewhere
