i prefer the video of the guy with the bazooka, and he shoots it and the gun recoils back and breaks his nose and he is bleeding all over

you are supposed to stand into the gun when firing, especially on a rifle that you have never fired before to account for the recoil

This is true, but at any rate that thing is freakin huge. I've shot some fairly powerful guns but even off hand they wouldn't knock me on my ass like that.

I didn't know those crazy fools had big guns, that has to be at least .500 bmg, maybe .60?

I have shot the 50 BMG in a converted AR-15 and it does not recoil like that even taking into consideration that that was a locked bolt. Maybe 375 H&H mag or 416 rem mag? Or maybe 416 Rigby (blast from the past)...

 

Oh come on guys, the man is wearing a freaking DRESS for crying out loud. Is it any wonder he fell down like a girl? Probably a .22 short cartridge. And not very bright either. Notice at the end how he's trying to PULL the door open that clearly opens OUT. You know, he just walked through that door a minute ago.

It is all about properly positioning and holding the gun and how balanced and stable you are while shotting. I know while hunting I got into some awkward positions and nearly fell afterwords when I fired.

 

The first time I ever fired a rifle (FN-FAL in the army) I had a blueish bruise under my right cheek for a week.....as did almost every one else in my unit.

Once you learn how to hold one properly it gives a new meaning to the term gun control.

 

I've seen the video before - it's a guy who builds custom loads and when you read the specs on the load, it's insane. There are other videos of people firing it and even fully prepared and leaned into it, they still have trouble standing up.

Problem is, he drives like he shoots. Statistics say he is 30 times more likely to die on the highway than I am, and it's the same highway. If I'm not mistaken that video was taken at Jebel Ali Shooting Club, about 10 minutes from here.

Well if that was a bad guy at least I know he won't be hitting anything with that gun. In that second video, is that a rocket or a recoiless rifle? That looks like it should be on that back of a truck or something.
