just got back from amazing wcdriving.com event at west point ny. drove 430, gallardo, ford gt, aston db9, and bentley gt on senic country roads for 30 min each. was supposed to also test z06 but it blew its motor on saturday.

impressions were that f430 is best of bunch which was a surprise b/c i expected to like g most. 1st thing is how comfortable and normal it functions as transportation. next is acceleration which is violent. paddle shifter is flawless. luxury of interior is also best. sound is opera but dont know if it had tubi or not

ford gt did not seem as powerful as it should have. maybe b/c it was drizzling and it was 1st car i drove so i wasnt on boost as quickly as possible but who wants to worry about boost lag anyway. best part of this car was gearshift which allowed for perfect heel and toe downshifts. if you want a clutch, then this is the car to have.

gallardo was shockingly underwhelming. everything i have heard said it drives boringly like an audi and it is true. it felt a lot like my son's s4 i drove up in. maybe b/c the interior stack is a direct lift from my car. anyway it did look the most exotic me. awd is also nice if to be used in bad weather like today

aston was much better than i expected. very good tiptronic trans. 2nd best sound. might be too similar to jag xk for me though

conti gt was awful. keyfob and shift surround are right off my son's audi. aston was better in every way for same $. only reason is if you need bentley name to impress

I seem to recall that the GT is supercharged so you should have no boost lag. Turbo chargers are the problem with lag.

Thanks for the right up. It'll be interesting to hear other peoples reviews of all of the cars at once.

surprised they are still doing it after we flogged their cars down here. someone actually broke the aston so i couldn't drive it. took all the others well up into 3 digits dozens of times. better get in on this while you can. the first one that pulls a "dietrich" will end it for everyone else. it's only a matter of time.
