Won't be able to pick it up until 3:30 or so. Oh well, it'll be worth the wait.

Only 4.5 hours for me. School was delayed, but not cancelled today. I was really hoping for a cancellation, but oh well.

 

Damn went to Gamestop when they opened and they said they dont get their shipment in till like 1. LAME

 

My copy was dispatched today and it says next day delivery but the games comes out on Friday here so don't know how thats gonna work.

I am about two hours into the game and am liking it so far. The sounds of the cars seem a little better, but still seem a bit off. I have only driven the California, the Esprit and the Aston 1-77 so it is hard to tell. The handling definitely feels better, but still leaves a bit to be desired, although coming from GT5 I might be a bit spoiled. I feel that it was worth the $50.

 

They sent me a tax invoice today which usually means they are shipping it.... maybe I get it a day early



I noticed on XBL last night that they have started releasing cars as DLC 80pts each :\

 

Great game. Handling is much better. Still arcady obviously but much much better than TDU1. I have won 4 or 5 championships and I still only have the Lancia Delta and a GTI.
Im trying to find the Caterham dealer! I cant find it!!!! Want to get a CSR or R500 so I can drive it in the game before my R400 gets delivered.

The environment is great. The weather and day/night cycle is perfect. Great great game. Worth the 50 bucks.

 

Where the hell do you find more race series? I've been playing for hours and only have the two C4 championships. Ughhhhhhhhh. Seriously I don't care about clothing, or surgeries, or haircuts. I just want to make money by racing to buy some supercars.

 

When you complete the first c4 championship it unlocks a couple A class championships as well as another c4 championship. They should be there. You sure you are looking on the map under Single player stuff?

 

Yeah but mine freaked out a bit. I didn't have any races on my map or even Xbox Live players. Restarted and poof! Fixed.

 

Absolutely love it. I've got the handling tuned to my preference and it's wonderful. I'm about to finish the offroad championship by beating that Rilder ******r and get his ugly car. So far i've had an Atom, Alfa Brera, 308, 246, Range Rover, and the Esprit. I absolutely love the older slower cars. They are wonderful. I was legitimately bummed when I had to get rid of my Esprit. I'll end up having a Zonda Roadster, and some older cars once I get the cash and stability in the game.

 

Just curious, what setting did you change?

I dont mind it stock but interested in what you think improves it.

Also wheres the ATOM!!! and CATERHAM!!! AHH

 

So far I'm enjoying the game, just having a struggle with one off-road challenge. A long switch-back downhill time trail that I keep coming up short. Maybe it's the truck I chose, a Hummer H3 with level 1 mods. I'm also using my G27 wheel which is not in anyway like the control I'm used to with GT5 but after a while you adapt to it.

Another really odd thing I found while exploring the island was a plastic surgeon, apparently you can change your facial appearance from one of the beautiful people to a disfigured troll. I thought it was bad enough with trendy hairstyles & clothing options to morph into a d0uchebag. (so you can impress folks online whenever Atari gets the servers back online.)

My initial impressions. I have learnt that Ibiza isn't part of Spain but really the 51st state of the USA since everyone speaks perfect American without a hint of a Spainish accent


Other than that enjoying the game

 

I found that dealership last night, both cars have an insane amount of acceleration but I favor the Atom more. I also finally found the Ferrari & Italian classics dealerships, opted to trade my Lotus S2 for a 308, I'm looking for a bigger house next so I can add more to the garages, I just need to explore the rest of the island to unlock to rest of the challenges. Server still seems to be down, I wonder what the issue is?

 

Here's my breakdown after playing for two days:

-Hawaii is infinitely more fun to drive than Ibiza.
-The 16M is the best sounding, possibly most fun car in the game.
-Once you set your personal driving settings the game gets a lot more fun.
-The car wash is retarded as is the poor acting and voice overs.
-Enter in Chase Mode and the cops are out to kill. I find it odd that a game inserts directional signals for more realism yet a police officer will head-on you at 180mph to pull you over.

- I'm using Hardcore, and bumped up the speed factor, dampers, and linear throttle/braking. I switch back and forth between Auto and Manual depending on how I feel but I wish you could switch the gear change buttons.

Overall it is fun and I love driving the 16M everywhere. I test drove a few cars (Viper, 599 GTO, CCXR Edition, Veyron GS) and they weren't as fun to toss around but the later are stupid fast. I got an achievement for holding a Veyron at 400 kph (249 mph) for 5 seconds during a test drive

If you don't have it yet, go buy it. You'll have fun!

 

My copy was delivered the day it came out, but since I had an exam coming up and a pare to write I could not play it. I put it in yesterday and while it is no GT5, I must say I really enjoy it. Like the people before me said the old cars are FUN!!! There is nothing like blasting down roads with the top down in my 308 listening to the engine and the shifts. So much fun. I can honestly say I am enjoying this game. Also my PSN is: BurntOrangeTX
