Test Drives

Its funny how everyone says re these hot new cars eg GT3 RS, TT, TT-S 'oh you should test drive' them. How do you go about doing this? The cars are so few and far between. I can't imagine a dealer giving someone one of these to drive enough to get comfortable with it. No one wants to put the mileage on a new car. If you are someone like me driving a 05 C2S which I bought new and wondering what the awd or PDK is really like on a daily basis. I mean they know I am a serious buyer as I bought my last car new from them, but they want you to order the car, wait 4-6mths to pay an astronomical price and hope you like it. I think they would sell more cars to people like if they would let you drive them and get you hooked.

Maybe the dealers are watching these sites .After I made this post, I was allowed a test drive at my auth dlr of 2011 ttS and 2008 tt. ttS is truly amazing but I think I may still want the involvement of a 6speed.

Maybe it depends on the dealer. If you're already a Porsche owner, I think our dealers here in San Diego would be falling all over themselves to get you to test drive a PDK or AWD car.

For a GT3-RS or the other rarer models, you're probably right -- I don't think they would allow random test drives without a deposit.
