Checked out elise today and really liked it. 06 with one local owner and only 2000 miles. Stickered for $51k and now asking $40k. Settled on $38k with a minor service and detail. If ppi goes well should be mine next week

    Got it and love it!

Drove it home yesterday about 2 hrs traffic hiway in 95 degrees and it coped really well. Unfortunately, the front turn lite fell off when i hit a bump but i was able to retrieve it. How does it ever stay on? I used electric tape for now. Also dont get how to adjust side mirrors. Manual says just move them but they dont go anywhere

Anyway, car drives so effortlessly, so beautifully. Everything is easy, direct, and precise with an old school analog feel. Who needs power steering or DCT? Heel toe is almost like it blips throtle for you. 200hp/2000lbs is so much more fun than 300/3000 in a boxster for example. I love watching the road go by under the windshield. Like its just sucking it in. And who knew toyota engines could rev to 8500!!? Wow

I just have to get used to how fragile it seems esp when hit a bump. No sound deadening, alum tub, and fiberglass makes you think its going to explode with each expansion joint. Regardless, its just the perfect play toy car

    Pics tomorrow

Great to hear (except the indicator*) :)

    * the indicators all do that - the spring fix is better than the bungy cord one :)

The mirrors are not the best design.

They are spring loaded, with a friction adjustment. Grab the outside edge of the mirror and move past the required adjustment and then push the mirror in towards the body of the car. When you let go, it will spring back some.

Forgot to mention, not the best design.

You will find some fun "British" features, but the car is soooo worth it.

If you have not found them yet, check out British Speed and Lotus Forum - Lotus Talk. Lots of good info.

Your car has 99% of the same DNA as the one in this test. And what he sais is mostly correct!

It been awhile sense I have had my car next to the Dino that shows up at CC frequently.

They are fairly close. The Elise is a little smaller in most dimensions, but I bet you could use the same car cover on either car.

    but YMMV
