Any knows about test pipes or hyper flow cats(or the like)for F430s??????
Please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly are test pipes? What do they do, and how much power do they give? I would check with Tubi on that: www.tubistyleusa.com
Test pipes delete the cat. Power figures vary depending on the application. Donrecto- If you're interested depending on your location I can get you a set fabbed up for $500-700 depending on how everything needs to be done. We also do top notch work as you can tell from our F355 manifolds if you've seen them. Regards, Kevin
So basically it is the same thing as say, and off-road X-Pipe versus an X-Pipe with cats (speaking Mustangs here).
why would you want to mess with perfection. the 430 sounds amazing as is and what are you planning to do with the little extra horse power that you might gain?
I don't know...I didn't think it would be any different than a 360. I can see you had problems whith your light coming on in your 360, but from what I read, it not an issue. I understand it would be stupid as it would void the warranty, but that's really just a money issue.
How can the light NOT come on? The 430 would have ODBII (as would any car later than 95), which requires monitoring of the catalytic converters, and a check engine light to come on if the the cats are not functioning properly. If someone has an explanation, I would love to hear it. Michael
You either have the ECU modified tonot check the secondary O2sensorvalue, or you put in a resistor that "fools" the ECU into thinking that there is nothing wrong. 430 with test pipes= VERY LOUD. MY 550 with Tubi's and X pipe reads 76db at 30metres. AHG's standard 430 measured 83-84db at the same track and was punted for being too loud. More volume is something the 430 doesn't need.
Why do it? The F430 is already mind-blowing fast and the incremental performance is probably not even noticeable in a car of such power. The removal of the cat is also a violation of the Federal emissions law. Why risk it?
That's what I say. I had a 360 with Capristo and test pipes downshifting in front of me a couple of weeks ago and it's sounds unbelievable.
You will have ECU codes with test pipes on the 430. The hyper Flow cats should be avail shortly. We have dyno results on 360 CS with a SUBSTANTIAL hp increase from the Hyper Flows compared to the OEM cats. I will talk to Troy in the morning & find out how long until they are avail, that would probably be the safest bet until updated performance ECU'S are avail by someone that will allow the use of test pipes with out check engine lights & possible shut down of a complete cylinder bank.
I have tubi and tubi test pipes on my 360 and no check engine lights or codes and sounds amazing. LOUD!! The HP increase is substaintial as well. It also passed emissions. The only downside is re seting the ECU about every 500-1000 miles Mike
