I am now open to a reasonable offers since I found a Bentley to replace her with.
I registered for this forum because I have recently decided to buy a 1978 or 1979 308. But I saw this post and I can't help but wonder if a TR would be more fun. The problems is that I want to stay under $50K for this purchase and, seemingly, that won't buy a decent TR. -Mark
If it helps, the general line on any of these cars is try to purchase the best example you can within your budget. $50k will buy you a lot of 308 but it won't go as far with these. If a TR is really what you want I say take your time save up a few bucks more and get one in this condition. Of course I may just just be hypnotized by this one!
So fly out to LA, get a PPI, then call a shipper. They can be shipped. That's what I plan to do with my new TR next month (flight to DC, then inspection-BIG GRIN/FINGERS CROSSED)!
Thank you for the complement and your interest. I saw your website and if art is what you like, look no further. Come out and see this beauty, it will a nice complement your CGT. Before you make the trip, please contact both Dave and Eric. Dave at Premier Motorsports in Carson and Eric Sanders at The Auto Gallery. They are fully authorized to disclose everything you need to know. I am confident a PPI will be to your satisfaction. FYI, I purchased her without PPI and have no regrets.
I know how you feel, I was there once. I ended up paying substantially higher than the market value years ago but I did want to only buy a car with good history and one that was ready to hit the road. That she was and more. You will do really well with 308s, they are one of my favorite cars too. I have to warn you, once you drive a TR, it is all over... just giving you heads up... SAVE UP little more $$$ and call me in few months.
Thank you Jim... He was glued to this car for an hour. The interior is like new after 45,000 miles. ZERO wear showing on the carpets.
Haig, I'm in the same boat as you so to speak. If I had the room your car would be next to my 348. I love the color combo and the accident means nothing to me. Buyers will carry on like the thing was hit by a freight train to beat you out of money. It's not your car, just cheap bastards wanting the most for the least. The guy offering you the low ball dough would **** his pants the first time something needed repairs. Your accident is more of an incident and should be no factor to someone wanting a great car. Of course you know all that....I'm just supporting ya in this time of B.S. Cheers!
All these years I had the sticker on the engine hood and just completed google search on the previous owner who was FCA Past President. You can see my TR on these articles. http://www.fca-sw.org/article.aspx?article_id=463 http://www.fca-sw.org/article.aspx?article_id=432 Image Unavailable, Please Login

Car still available and I am now thinking about installing a clear bra to preserve the beautiful paint job from rock chips. She will be attending the Plam Desert Concourse in March. For those of you who are still interested, come by and take a look...
