Hi guys, Today I found the Testarossa in the colour combination I always wanted, ie Blue Sera with Panna interior. The car has only 17.000km on the clock, totally original and she had only one owner since new. The dealer said that the previous owner had a complete service (including belts, oil seals, ect and four brand new tyres) at the local Ferrari dealer for Euro 10K. Price requested is Euro 55K I have read as much as I can on the Testarossa, but I would like some good advices, bearing in mind that this is the latest Testarossa produced before the 512TR and hopefully the one with all "the issues" sorted out. I plan to use the car only for Ferrari rallies and during weekends on open roads, Thank you J Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
J, Here's a site of interest. Click on articles and read buyers guide. Looks to be pretty clean and great color combo. How long ago were the belts changed? Good luck. http://www.red-headed.com/index2.html
I have new info: according to the dealer the main service was done 5/6 months ago. the car belonged to a famous Italian soccer player, who sold it after few years to his agent, who died few months later. so she has been resting all this time in a private garage, when only recently the widow of the late agent decided to sell it. the only concern I have is the way this soccer player drove her when new ...
Hopefully, he drove her hard and broke her in properly! Check the PAPERWORK on the car and major service, call the Ftech and ask a few questions about the car, check the clutch, driver her in 4th gear and step on the gas hard, no slippage should occur. Make sure she shifts from 1st to 2nd smoothly even when cold...should be smooth shifting. Drive fast and check for straightness, vibration, etc. Get a PPI FROM A REPUTABLE SHOP. If any problems, negotiate them away. Enjoy her!
autoluce car! forget about the testa, buy the red anniversary countach: this is the best deal!! testa is slower, weight more, less fun to drive and much more common you can buy the anni, drive it for some years and won't lose a penny when will come time to sell it my 0.02
Its a beautiful car. If it checks out after a PPI, and it drives correctly (steers, shifts, etc), go for it and best of luck. Btw, don't bother with going to the dark side and getting a Lambo Ferrari's are difficult to repair and find parts for when they break, but older Lambos are much more difficult.
i think he is in Italy to, easier to find parts for both BTW: this testa is a really nice car, i like the 25th more and i think it would be the better deal for performance (and value in some years), but the blue one is really a nicelooking machine
never buy a blue car, the assemblers hate em,if you think the factory is inpartial to each car regardless of colour your not Italian.
I like the Testarossa in general, but this one, aside the nice colour combo, looks really like new. The Countach is a beautiful car, but I am not ready yet to switch to the dark side...
ex Vialli's car, if you want a testa this is a car to buy imo: veeery nice outside and inside chek the service history and arrange a test drive P.S. i like the testa but i'd take a 512 TR (much more rare and lots of testa faults corrected) ho un 400S, sono convinto che la 25th di autoluce sia un'auto da comprare, ma al momento non posso aggiungere un'altra auto
