Need some assistance here gurus. I'm working on the 'Ratarossa' project and switching my attention to the AC system.

Im trying to figure out the AC condenser and wiring thats housed in front of the drivers wheel arch.

So I have previously bolted in the entire unit (complete with fan) that was with the box of bits that came with the project car. On the fan I can see only TWO cables (both black) these are plugged directly into what I believe is the 'Bimetallic Thermocontact', this is how it came to me and looks from what I can see to be correct.

My question is am I missing something here, surely should there be a connector to actually power and drive the fan ? Ive looked around and just can't see anything else.

I have two wires from the cars front loom that again are unaccounted for (1x black & 1x turquoise), just wondering if these should connect somehow to the Spal fan ?

Thanks, I figured there was something that would hold that in place and looking at the curvature it appeared to go around a pipe. Think the clip is 60815000 part number.

However how does the fan motor actually get power ?

Ok my understanding that the function of the thermal switch is that it will send the signal then close/open the fan relay for the motor.
However currently all I have is the two wires coming out from the fan motor plugged directly into the thermal switch and nothing more. What / where does the power come from to drive the actual spal fan motor itself ?

Forgive me if this is a silly question and I’m being stupid here

Jeff, you are an absolute star my friend.
As you say the pic says a thousand words. Totally get it now, that explains it perfectly.

If I get a spare connector it’s coming your way sir

To put some words around Jeff's pictures:

The VB (green-white) wire connects to one of the wires of the thermoswitch, the other wire of the thermoswitch goes to one side of the motor. The other side of the motor connects to a (ground) wire that connects to the chassis. (The wiring diagram shows they use different sexes of the connectors so that the +12V signal from the VB wire, that passes thru the thermoswitch, can only go to the correct +12V terminal on the motor, and, likewise, the ground wire from the chassis can only connect to the ground terminal on the motor).

Cheers Steve & Jeff for your help. Ive just fitted mine back together as it should be. Half my problem was that when the complete assy arrived separately from the car someone had plugged both the thermos witch wires into the fan, I just couldn't figure out how they should have been as it looked completely normal plugged directly in.

Anyway all sorted thanks to you guys
