Just curious, those recall notices went out a long time ago, over a year. Is this the first time you were told? And if you are not the original owner have you ever notified Ferrari North America that you are the current owner?

I've got the other version of this problem -- my existing system is working well, and I'm not eager to let someone tear apart my interior.

I got the notice just thru my CO state vehicle registration I think (i.e., I'm not the original owner, and I've never notified FNA that I'm the owner).

I'm in a similar boat. They are almost perfect but quite a bit better than many of the recall sets (that is correct they still are not really fixed) I have seen installed. I actually had a service manager tell me he would trade me a set of parts to install but he got fired before I could take him up on it.

Received the same recall/fix it free notice more than a year ago for my 87 TR (I'm not the original owner)- but was also told by Ferrari of SF that my TR was actually sent back to Italy a few years ago to "solve the problem" before the recall was sent out. They work great and have decide to stand pat for now - I guess the recall doesn't have a time limit. Think this is a good move Brian?

I can't tell you to ignore a recall but like I said the replacement units have not been trouble free.

If you decide to "delay" for now the recall, keep the paperwork handy.

I too received the recall notice....two times. But I converted my seat belts to non-motorized "manual" type. It would be nice to be able to get all the interior pieces and properly convert to the manual type of the earlier cars and the Euro cars. I'm hanging on to the paperwork just in case I decide to get the work done. But I don't like the idea of leaving my car at a dealership for a week to complete the job.
