I just found this picture on the web which I remember from about '84 when the Testarossa and Countach where tested in an english car mag. I think it was Performance car. For me it was just one of those images thats sticks in your mind. Enjoy.

Perhaps you should look for a Countach Ton...subtle and understated :)
Can you imagine your patients seeing that just before you put them under.

How were the TR and the Countach related if you compare them in Hp, torque, speed, etc?

It really depends on which COuntach you are comparing the TR with .

The last QV5000 was probably faster than a TR . 450 hp and lighter..

But back in 1984; which one was faster?

@Simon, any results from the test?

I mean the Countach in '84! At the time that the TR was introduced to the world!

I think it was a QV they tested. I don't have the magazine anymore but I seem to remember that the performance was actually quite similar. The article said the Countach felt a lot fast because it was more brutal in the way it delivered the power. The Testa was much more refined and the better aerodynamics helped it reached comparable top end even with 60 or 70 hp less.

I have never sat in a Countach! I expect it to be a real Lambo. Small, narrow and a firm offset of the pedals to the right!
I think that the styling is absolutely timeless. Beautiful!

Ton , having driven the Countach 25th anniversary for around 100 miles around town and on the highway i can say its a Pain in the ass !
I had to fight with the Gb , the front was always going its own direction , if the road wasnt perfectly smooth it would change lines by itself , the cockpit was hot as hell , absolutely no rear view .And as you said , the pedals are so close to each other , you are almost braking and accelerating at the same time.

Sure , its beautiful , the noise is amazing and its an attention whore but i cant say i enjoyed it . Maybe on a smooth B road ? Driving an F40 or even the Daytona was easier.

That is what I expected. How is the drivability and handling of a Diablo if you compare it to a 12 cylinder Ferrari?

    Andrew,
    don`t drive a Countach with NIKE`s!
Slim italian leather shoes, thats it!
Rear view???? Who cares about what is behind you???? The challenge is always in front of you!
    Thats a real men car;)

I drove the 6.0 which was much much better . The car was easy to drive . Yet very powerful , fast , noisy , exclusive . I dont know if early Diablos are that easy , i dont think so , but i love the 6.0 . Its an amazing car and it handled great .

I cant compare it to a mid engined 12 Ferrari as i have never driven one yet ( just front engined or mid engined V8..)

I always drive with Sabelts or Sparcos Speedcats. ! :) I never use sneakers when i drive; i cant feel the pedals .

Rear view was a pb when i wanted to change line on the highway .A crowded highway not one where u could just hammer down and then change lines :(
