My Testarossa is very infrequently used, but fairly regularly started and ran.

When sitting in the garage I switch off the battery isolation switch to prevent the alarm from draining it. Quite often when I switch it back on to start it; all I get is clicking from the starter solenoid.

After turning the isolation switch back and forth a few times it will then generally start.

I am aware the the starter / starter solenoid is a weak point on these cars; but maybe optimistically believe that the issue appears to be the switch.

I recall the the 308 that I owned for many years had a similar switch so I am guessing that it may not be an exclusively Ferrari part.

Does anyone know where you can source a new switch from; other than a Ferrari Agent?

May have more to do with just "vibrating" the fuse-relay panel as you muck with the battery isolation switch or just the randomness of a flaky connection than the battery isolation switch. I'd suggest that you have an assistant wiggle the w and y connectors when you have the trouble to see if it has any effect -- see:

Are there any "modifications" already made to your TR starter system?

My thanks to you once again for your advice.

You may recall that you helped me greatly some years ago when I had an electrical problem causing the car to only run for a few seconds. Without your remarkable knowledge and guidance I would never have solved this.

I shall check the connections and add the jumper. It may take a while; as the car is stored away from home.

To the best of my knowledge there are no modifications to the car; other than the addition of 512TR wheels. It has covered just over 11,000 miles; so probably suffers from lack of use; rather than worn out.
