Hello Testarossa owners and those with knowledge. What’s the proper choice these days on replacing the clutch? I looked for a Borg & Beck but could find nothing. The other choices seem to be AP racing, Hill Engineering and some Italian aftermarket kits. Any recent experience and or recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I've got positive experience with a rebuild clutch.

You need to make sure that the master and slave are properly maintained.

I have yet to experience a well rebuilt clutch for a TR from the USA. There does not seem to be the correct thickness lining material here and the plate stack comes out the wrong height and never works well. The only company who made a clutch for it was AP. The Hill conversion to a single plate 512 clutch is an exellent way to go. Since 85 my experience the only acceptable clutch has been either the AP new OE clutch or the Hill conversion.
In either case they last a long time. Have seen both go well over 75,000 miles. I don't anticipate ever replacing mine.

Rifledriver, thanks for the feedback on clutch options for the Testarossa. I like the Hill Engineering solution. It seems one can purchase this from Superformance out of the UK or Ricambi out of the states. They both have similar descriptions stating the clutch plates are from Ferrari etc. however the one from Superformance is $1k less expensive. Are you aware of any reason to believe they are not the same? thanks in advance.

In my professional experience Ricambi is one of my top and most trusted suppliers. His prices, service and products have earned him that position. Superformance is not on my list anywhere.

I can get low bidder train wrecks all day every day. I can't afford them.

Why I appreciate this forum so much! I prefer to learn from others than experience everything first hand myself - thanks so much.
