I'm buying an '88 Testarossa and have a question about the clutch. The clutch is new (about 1800 miles) however you must push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor (hard) when you put the car in gear and then if you only let it out about 1/4 inch from the floor the car starts to move. The next 1 1/2 inches of release gives the same slight movement of the car (no real engagement). Then as you get to where the clutch should really release it works as normal. I had the mechanic at the dealer check it out and bleed the system but the results were the same. He thought since the car sat for a few months the clutch disks might have rusted on the splines so they didn't fully release.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say the clutch is either bad, or improper installation. Either way, it will have to be removed and examined.

Even if it was rust on the splines, it will have to come out!!!!!!!!!!!
