Hi. two days ago the mechanism that holds the backrest on the drivers seat in my Testarossa broke, making the backrest unable to stay in the right position. Are there anybody out there that knows what may have broken, and the best remedy to fix it? I have not had time to look into the matter yet, but I have a feeling that there are a few other Testarossa owners out there that may have experienced the same thing... By the way, it is a standard seat on a 88 Testarossa. LVG
The seat is very easy to rip out of the car and they are very simple to disassemble. If I remember correctly (on my 86) there is a hood shock thing or piston that controls the seat back angle. It could be that an attaching pin has fallen out or a locating tang could have torn (needs welding). Just four allen screws attach the seat to the floor. Once you have it on the bench, it should be very easy to fix. At worst, you could make a tube or bar to replace the piston (if that is what is broken). Good luck! Jeff Pintler 89 348tb, 86tr
Thank you for the reply! Sounds like a minor thing to fix. Hopefully I get time to take take out the seat the coming weekend and have a closer look at what has happened. LVG
