Have a 1986 Red Head with factory exhaust. Any advice out there for upgrades or should I just leave well enough alone?

First off, welcome to F-chat! :)
Tons of choices and options, but you should be over in the TR section to ask this question. And before going there and getting blasted by the many users there, I would use the search function in the upper left corner of the page. That will get you all the exhaust threads, prioritized by most recent date.

I used to have a 1993 512 TR which had a Tubi on it and sounded great.

If Tubi is the route you want to go, I can set that up for you.

If you like it loud and F-1 sounding the Caspristo sounds best in my opinion. Jeff Grimes had it on his black TR sounded great

After hearing Jeff's old TR with the Capristo I have to agree with Mike... It sounded amazing!!! I haven't heard a tubi on a TR but you will have a VERY distinctive sound with the Capristo... Good luck with what ever you go with and Welcome to F-Chat...

I wish I could find my videos of the 512 so you could hear the car with the Tubi Exhaust on it. It sounded really throaty, but not too high pitched. I personally like the more F1 style sounds.. The car is currently for sale down at Ron Tonkin with the Tubi, so if you get a chance you could check it out and see for yourself if you like it.

Save some money skip the Tubi get a x-ost MAranello with Hyperflow Cats and Precats, I have a Tubi on my 328 and a x-ost on my 91 Testarossa. While the Tubi sounds very nice the X-Ost sounds just a good and the build quality and appearence is just a nice as the Tubi

I sell most of the brands talked about on F chat, best prices & the most knowledge on Ferrari exhaust systems, along with being F chats FIRST & longest running sponsor. Exhaust systems are very personal, some people are looking for a specific sound, and some are looking for a HP upgrade, some want a combination of both, many systems have their good points & bad points.

Capristo uses 309 stainless steel, most others use 304, there is big difference raw metal cost between the two, also 309 will not corrode like 304 stainless & will polish back up almost like new even after years of use.

Many of the X-OST Ferrari systems from what the talk is in Italy from my relatives & business associates are an intellectual property rip off from Tubi.

3 of the people at X–OST worked for Tubi for many years, left & then formed X-OST.

There are many of us here on F chat that produce products for many different businesses, I am sure we would all agree that having someone take your designs & intellectual property & then make it your own is a bit disturbing.

I sell 9 major brands of exhaust systems, some I respect more than others. I just wanted to give fellow Ferrari car owners a heads up.
