Would anyone be interested to purchase a 1988 Ferrari Testarossa with low miles and in very nice shape? Car is in Saskatchewan being sold by a friend of mine. Just trying to help him out and keep him from losing on it to a dealer. PM me.

I wish I could say yes. I love the testa...but to a lot of people they are big, heavy, slow lumps, not worth the money it takes to keep them alive and well. This car deserves a good home but that is VERY hard to come by. Its a dinosaur, unfortunately..but a very cool dino at that. They are one of the best old school F-cars you could want. But the newer gen wants cheap and fast...AMG, M series, Corvette, GTR, has that covered for far cheaper in the long run. The TR is not a dream car anymore..sucks but its true.

I tried to send this PM to you but it said your mailbox is full.

Possibly if the price is right, is this a Euro car? I'm in the USA so they take an additional hit price wise on that.

Why don't you PM me a price and (VERIFIED) service history and if it is fair I'll buy it, if not I won't bother you about it again.

    Thank you!

Chip - speedo in in Miles - and has the mouse trap belts, its a US car - not a euro -

Nice looking car, and excellent color combo ;)

But as Tom said, these cars are at the bottom of the curve , best bang for the buck for an old school ferrari, but for 70K , you can get a new shelby that will kill you sooner ;)

Thanks Big Red, it is a great looking car but are you trying to tell me he wants $70k for it? I hope not or he will have it for a long time.

Some great points but that V12 is sure to change a few minds once it gets fired up.

I'll start by saying I have no skin in the game.

I have known the current owner for a number of years and can vouch for the fact the he is a no BS kind of guy.

I looked at the car today with a critical eye and made the following observations:

The pictures that are posted show the overall quality and condition of the car.

The car is straight, paint is 99.9% when viewed under flourescent lights.

Interior is very nice. Even without detailing, the interior looks almost flawless.

The car is priced well, is in Canada (no duty, international shipping etc.) and would be a worthwhile addition to anyones collection.

If it had a bull logo rather than a prancing horse, it wouldn't be on the market tonight.

PM Glen K if you have questions.

    Thanks Darin. Some further details...

1988 Ferrari Testarossa, #076725. Red/Black. Dual, low mirrors car. 16,202 miles. Timing belts done at 11,187 miles in March 2002. Driven only 228.7 miles since purchased by current owner. Parked for last 3 years in body shop show room and started monthly. USA market car. 390 hp, 180 mph top speed. Paid $105,000 in June 2003 by current owner. Asking price is $60,000. Car is presently in Saskatchewan Canada.

-Over 6' drivers welcomed (I'm 6' 2 1/2" and found this car very comfortable)
-Typical heavy controls at low speeds yet an easy to live with, reasonable around town car. Highway manners beyond reproach. "Mouse on a track" seatbelt system working well.
-Front hood struts are soft but can support hood, same on rear
-Leather in excellent condition with usual minor wear on left side of driver's seat (have photos to show).
-Present tires are not original but new Michelin Pilot Sport Radials X rated 225/50ZR16 front and 255/50ZR16 rear. Spare tire is unused. All rims perfect with exception of 1 small paint chip on one rim (have photos to show).
-Overall paint is beautiful with very few imperfections (have photos of every little paint chip to show). Front bumper and chin spoiler peppered with microscopic chips (have photos to show). A few scrapes on underside of chin spoiler and "rear lower covering" from low ground clearance brushes (have photos to show). Very clean car.
-Very few records with vehicle history, likely due to low mileage. Photos I have of all documents (including record of previous Ontario owners) show 15,000 mile service done at 11,187 miles in March 2002 by Ferrari of Ontario which included timing belts, conversion of A/C to R134 and various other parts, gaskets, shims, etc. totalling $10,046.83.

If there are any other questions I can answer or if you would like to see the 133 high res photos and detail closeups I have please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]
