If you mean "how do I check the gearbox lubricant fill level with the powerplant in place", the first thing you'll need is a 12mm hex "L" key that you can cut off the short leg really short -- but you'll find both pieces useful ;)

    See any TR OM:

Section 1, liquids and lubricants, has a useful figure showing the gearbox fluid levels in the main and transfer gear reservoirs.

Section 4, gear box and differential, has a figure identifying the various drain and fill plugs (in your case, you'd remove plug "C" to confirm/deny if the main gearbox reservoir level is up to the bottom of the plug "C" hole).

PS the "17 pints" for the transfer gear case reservoir is a misprint -- should be "0.17 pints"
